Everything happening too fast! Bard, Gemini, Designer! // Tudo acontecendo muito rápido! Bard, Gemini, Designer!

It's becoming impossible to keep up with the speed at which technology is advancing this year and that's fantastic! In the blink of an eye we've moved on from the watershed moment (which was Chat GPT, obviously) and now we're being bombarded by constant evolution in this mad dash for AI. Unlike physical technological evolutions (such as electric cars, sudden changes in items like household appliances) AI is automatically available to everyone around the world via the internet and it seems that this is only just beginning.

I've been testing Bard, Google's generative AI this week and I can say that it's almost as good as or even better than GPT Chat, I had already been satisfied with its quality of "cognition" but now I've discovered that Google has just released Gemini, a language model in its beta version for testing. In its own words, its capabilities are mainly rich in:

• Answer your questions in an informative way, even if they are open-ended, challenging or strange - Generate different formats of creative text, such as poems, code, scripts, musical pieces, email, letters, etc. - Translate languages accurately and fluently. For example, if you ask Gemini to translate a text from Portuguese into English, it can generate a precise and natural text.

I took advantage of the conversation with Bard and asked him if it is "superior" to Chat GPT now that it has Gemini, and his answer was:

- The short answer is: it depends. Both models have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Gemini

Advantages: - It's trained on a much larger data set of text and code than ChatGPT 4, which gives it a deeper understanding of the world - It's able to generate more creative and original text than ChatGPT 4 - It's better at understanding and answering open, challenging or strange questions.

Disadvantages: - It is still under development, so it may make mistakes from time to time - It may be slower than ChatGPT 4 to respond to requests.

ChatGPT 4

Advantages: - It's faster than Gemini at responding to requests - It's better at generating factual and accurate text - It's better at following instructions and completing requests.

Disadvantages: - It is trained on a smaller dataset of text and code than Gemini, which gives it a less in-depth understanding of the world. - It is less able to generate creative and original text than Gemini. - It is worse at understanding and answering open, challenging or strange questions.

And then there's Microsoft's Designer! Yesterday I was thinking of going back to Canva to do some Instagram marketing, but I did some research and soon discovered that Microsoft had just launched a competitor to Canva for FREE! Designer is a top-notch application (desktop and mobile), full of artificial intelligence, very practical and beautiful! I'm still far from knowing how much it can do, but watching some videos I've already been amazed! It's fantastic to see this absurd speed of advancement in technology in our favor, which will help a lot in the creative process and in research, I'm very happy to be living this experience!

Em um piscar de olhos nos saímos do momento de ruptura (que foi o Chat GPT, obviamente) e agora estamos sendo bombardeados por uma evolução constante nesse louca corrida pelo AI. Diferente de evoluções tecnológicas físicas (como carro elétrico, mudanças bruscas em itens como eletrodomésticos) a AI está automaticamente disponível para todos em todo mundo através da internet e parece que isso ainda está apenas no começo.

Eu tenho testado o Bard, a AI generativa do Google essa semana e posso dizer que ela é praticamente tão boa quanto ou até mesmo melhor que o Chat GPT, já havia me satisfeito com sua qualidade de "cognição" mas agora descobri que o Google acabou de lançar o Gemini, um modelo de linguagem em sua versão beta para teste. Nas palavras dele mesmo, sua capacidade é rica principalmente em:

• Responder às suas perguntas de forma informativa, mesmo que sejam abertas, desafiadoras ou estranhas.
• Gerar diferentes formatos de texto criativo, como poemas, código, scripts, peças musicais, e-mail, cartas, etc.
• Traduzir idiomas de forma precisa e fluida. Por exemplo, se você pedir a Gemini para traduzir um texto do português para o inglês, ele poderá gerar um texto preciso e natural.

Aproveitei a conversa com o Bard e lhe perguntei se ele é "superior" ao Chat GPT agora que tem o Gemini, e sua resposta foi:

- A resposta curta é: depende. Ambos os modelos têm suas próprias vantagens e desvantagens.

Gemini

Vantagens:

• É treinado em um conjunto de dados de texto e código muito maior do que ChatGPT 4, o que lhe dá uma compreensão mais profunda do mundo.
• É capaz de gerar texto mais criativo e original do que ChatGPT 4.
• É melhor em entender e responder a perguntas abertas, desafiadoras ou estranhas.

Desvantagens:

• Ainda está em desenvolvimento, então pode cometer erros de vez em quando.
• Pode ser mais lento do que ChatGPT 4 para responder a solicitações.

ChatGPT 4

Vantagens:

• É mais rápido do que Gemini para responder a solicitações.
• É melhor em gerar texto factual e preciso.
• É melhor em seguir instruções e completar solicitações.

Desvantagens:

• É treinado em um conjunto de dados de texto e código menor do que Gemini, o que lhe dá uma compreensão menos profunda do mundo.
• É menos capaz de gerar texto criativo e original do que Gemini.
• É pior em entender e responder a perguntas abertas, desafiadoras ou estranhas.*

E ainda temos o Designer da Microsoft! Ontem eu estava pensando em voltar a assinar o Canva para fazer algum marketing pelo instagram, mas dei uma pesquisada e logo acabei descobrindo sem querer que o Microsoft havia acabado de lançar um concorrente ao Canva DE GRAÇA! O Designer é um aplicativo (Desktop e celular) de alto nível, cheio de inteligência artificial, muito prático e bonito! Ainda estou longe de saber o quanto ele é capaz de fazer, mas assistindo alguns vídeos já fiquei surpreso! É fantástico ver esse velocidade absurda de avanço na tecnologia a nosso favor, que ajudará muito no processo criativo e nas pesquisas, fico muito feliz de estar vivenciando essa experiência!
