Have Patience | A ZapFic Monday Story Submission

This short story is my submission for the 38th ZapFic Monday! Today's story prompt is, "Hospital."

The skateboard rolled over her finger, tore off the nail. I got her to the car, we rushed to the hospital. Frantic, I beeped the horn and shouted at cars to move.
"Have patience, Daddy," she said from the backseat. I should have listened.
