"Gizmooo Caca"

We children, who grew up in the 80s, knew something that today's children have abandoned by succumbing to addiction to consoles, deadly and selfish artifacts. We children of the 80s knew the value of friendship. Every afternoon when we left school we filled the streets and parks and made our town, our neighborhood, our town a fleeting and wonderful Neverland, where things as simple as marbles, the top or the legs of a girl in a miniskirt Jump rope ruled. But beyond that, a series of unforgettable films that have accompanied us during these years have been a very important part of our growth. On Saturday afternoons our usual playground was empty because we were all at the movies. All the gangs (huge gangs of 15, 20, 30 friends...), the girl you liked, the older brother who had already kissed and was sitting in the last row with his first love.

"Gremlins" is the story of Billy, a young man from a small town, who is given a mogwai, a rare animal called a gizmo, whose basic care is to follow very simple rules: do not get wet, do not eat after midnight and Sit down.Of course, don't worry about the sunlight, which is deadly for him. Everyone knows that two of these rules are not followed and cause a disaster.

"Gremlins" gave the aforementioned second classic group an unforgettable year and was well received by critics and audiences. There is a demand, more or less widespread, and we already know how Americans can deal with it because Dante liked the film, but quite a few accused it of being too violent and gloomy, largely due to the fact that its potential market was teenagers.

The conservative attitude prevented us from seeing what was perhaps the film's greatest success: undermining the Christmas cinema and turning it into a humorous black with evil monsters. One scene in particular, inspired by her, revealed the theme of striking luck on these special dates, the one in which Kate tells Billy the tragic story that Christmas is all pain for her. Gremlins, who is great entertainment above all, was discovered as something else. And while Hooligan and Dionysian are the most remembered (for good reason), there is gravity to the film, also for the way it treats the friendship story between Gizmo and Billy that leads to an ending that is more than chicken skin.

It is not precisely this serious and dark that part 2 brings, which has forbidden the allusion to him to bet on the most unleashed, the most exciting madness and hooliganism the healthiest.

The sequel lived up to the second blinds and featured more monsters, forgetting about introductions to get to the heart of the matter. Although it has not been able to repeat the success of hosting the first, 'The New Generation' reaches greater heights and spirit than its predecessor, initiating the gallery of the most ingenious and striking creatures and a sense of homage and the greatest affection and self-awareness.

The cocktail of ingredients, indigestible for some, was as cumbersome as it was decidedly joyous, a true fantasy festival that used a single stage to organize it with great freedom. They no longer protested against the violence of the film, that few could appreciate the virtues of this film. perhaps inferior to the original, but which is by no means an intelligent genre work worthy of celebration.

To summarize everything I have written and why it deserves to be a cult movie

• It's from Joe Dante: frantic montages, compulsive cinephilia / cinephagia, deceptive black humor, lovable characters and / or bastards. His movie is full of references to other ethereal film masterpieces, and we assholes can entertain ourselves by dragging them: to infinity. It combines a multitude of registers with the softness of a teacher, there are moments when you are afraid, there is room for blood for the whole audience, we can recreate ourselves in some of the worst jokes in history...
• Some green bugs come out, ruining Christmas with their thousand antics. For people who hate such adorable dates, there is no better recipe for curing depression. Gremlins already in actual speech!
• There is also a lovable and caring fur beetle, the ultimate pet. It is a pity that he survived.
• Radiates love for the cinema and love for the fantastic: that is not carried now, no sir.
