Thoughtful design

At the beginning of the year I saw a post from friend @doriangel about the great department store Traki, at that moment I thought about the years I have without visiting that store, so I decided to make an adventure trip.

Although @doriangel lives in the State of Merida and I live in Caracas, the store has a national presence and by those coincidences of life a few days later I saw a store in a sector that I rarely visit so I said to myself "this is the place".

My adventure
I confess, I am not a mall and department store person. An atypical woman, maybe yes. A hidden secret: enclosed and crowded places cause me fatigue. So my visits to these places are fleeting like comets.

The perfect accomplice.
To fulfill my mission, I invited my sister to the excursion. She loves to look at clothes, check prices, try on clothes and in the end maybe not buy anything. She is a fish in the water: she is in her environment. When I proposed the adventure her eyes sparkled and I understood that she was the one to take the tour.

At two o'clock in the afternoon we arrived at the Traki store, located on Venezuela Avenue in El Rosal, Caracas. It occupies the first five floors of an office building. The first thing that caught my attention is that on the terrace, the entrance to the store, there is a restaurant. It is very nice, spacious and outdoors. For a moment I was tempted to stay there instead of going in.

The walls of the facade are painted white and it has panoramic windows. This gives it a certain feeling of spaciousness, the same feeling that is reflected inside. The spaces are wide, white painted walls that give the sensation of being in a comfortable and open space.

It has 6 levels
Home, furniture, toy store, children's clothing, men's clothing and finally on the top floor women's clothing. They definitely thought it through. We women have to go through all the floors to get to our clothes and on the way more than one of us will get clothes stuck in our hands. By the way, the cash register is in the exit area, next to the restaurant. On the way out, coffee and cake are waiting to complete the visit.

I noticed that the interior design is exactly the same as the Traki store in Mérida, which shows that the architects and interior designers have made an effort to keep the store concept consistent. It has escalators and a regular staircase to access each floor. There is an elevator with a view to the east side of the store. The ceiling of the stairs has very attractive round light fixtures.

The ceiling is made of steel slab (I think that's what it's called), it's completely painted white and they have left the light fixtures and pipes exposed. I think they hid the water pipes very well, both white and black. And I did not see the fire alarm system piping, although I did see the alarms and fire extinguishers very well identified.

The second level has a nice architectural detail. Part of the floor is made of glass blocks. It looked to me like the yellow walkway to the world of Oz; however, this Doroty did not feel safe walking on those blocks.

The bathrooms are on the top floor (very well thought out), the customer must walk up all the floors. What struck me powerfully about this bathroom was the sink. It is rustic in a single block and it reminded me of the sinks I have seen in rutic houses in the Venezuelan plains, personally I feel that it does not match the rest of the decoration of the place.

My visit to this place lasted about three hours. Remember that I went with my sister. She took it upon herself to check, rummage and see everything absolutely everything... well I am exaggerating. I pushed her to get out of the place. The air for my taste was rarefied by the smell of plastic, of being locked up, of new clothes ... and I needed outside air. By the way, that smell was magnified when I went up to floors 5 and 6, because I noticed that the air conditioning was not working. Now that was a real tragedy.

Adventures can come in many forms and this visit was one of them.

This sofa made my day. I found myself sitting there reading my favorite books.

Hola amiga @tibaire, thanks for the mention in your post, I'm glad you were encouraged to visit this store. Here in Merida, we women also have to wait for the last floor to see our clothing options. Which by the way, is quite overwhelming, because it is huge.

I really like the design of the facade of this store and inside, if I can notice that they keep the same concept, unlike Merida, they did not cover the Losacero (If that's what it's called). Those furniture, they are a dream, I can also imagine myself reading a good book in one of those.

I really enjoyed your pictures, thanks for taking us to know another of these iconic department stores. Happy week.

Happy day , hahahahaha you are right the women's clothing floor is overwhelming. I like the design, it's spacious, white and minimalist. The air conditioning issue overwhelmed me. The furniture made my day. Even the color is perfect for me.

Hello bella , nothing like an open space and natural air. I loved the sofa, maybe I will plan to buy one. As for the sink, it reminds me of the space where the cattle are watered.

Greetings @tibaire, traky stores, maintain a similar design and concept in terms of the bathroom and stairs, also the glass blocks; has bathrooms downstairs and upstairs in Cumana Traky store occupies a full floor, is located in a shopping center that has changed the name several times, I do not even know what it's called hahaha. The store has many departments my favorite is the home department, I can spend hours there looking, comparing colors, prices and checking the kids and ladies department, the times I go I take my time and check every detail I can, your sister is the perfect companion to go to traky and visit every department.

Thanks for sharing your visit to traky.

Hi, I didn't know that the bathroom concept is the same in all stores. I thought for a moment I thought it was a last-minute decision. I think you and my sister are the ideal companions to go to the store.

First, it seems we are in the same ship about not being the type of girl who likes malls and crowded places. And, oh! this post is great. your patience to tell the details in it, it's like I'm going for a walk in the mall especially supported with complete photos. I am most interested in the floor which discusses furniture. Have a nice day, @tibaire!

@tibaire, The dimensions of this shopping center are truly impressive. It looks quite spacious. I have visited several stores and they really are very related in terms of their architecture and interior design. The organization of this large corporation is very noticeable. I had read on a certain occasion that people who do not like closed spaces are because they suffer from claustrophobia, pending with that appreciated friend greetings from Guárico

Hello dear @armasdiaze , yes the store has a very good vision of your marketing concept. The design is the same for all stores, including the sink in the bathrooms.

You are right it is claustrophobia and I have had my episodes, but I have been keeping that thought out of my mind and training it not to feel that discomfort.
