How One Habit Is Quietly Changing My Future - SCIFIMULTIVERSE PROMPT WEEK 78 EDITION 1

In case you don't know, just one habit can actually change your life for good. And it starts small, very minute, and before you know it, it has become something that has become part of you, and you cannot even stop it. A few years ago, if you have asked me this kind of question, what I would say was that I love learning, I love reading books.
I love inquisitiveness, inquiry, asking questions, and getting so curious about life. I was fortunate to have opened an encyclopedia back then. Everything I learned looked new, and I tried to implement it and make myself better with it.
It was from there that I got to learn WordPress, Shopify, Elementor, GHL, AI Automation, and many more. What I wanted to do was understand all of them. My problem is not learning at this time, it's just that I was confused in learning as progress was going on.
As time goes on, I was fast becoming someone who could explain almost everything, but I wasn't constantly shipping out work. So, you can look at a scenario where I was learning something back to back, but there is no outward productivity or work that is shipped out. So I was busy on the inside learning, but nothing on the outside is showing.
That realisation changed how I see things. So the new habit I have been building these days is daily execution. Instead of asking what I should learn today, now I ask what I can build today.
I've come to find out that if I build something, it will stand as a portfolio. But if I learn something, nobody is going to come for me for learning it. That single question has changed how I approach my career as a person.
Being a web designer and automation expert, what I do now is create something every day. Do something new, I don't want to run after clients. I want to do something for myself and I want to create it.
I'll design a landing page myself, I'll build an automation workflow myself and use it to my own good. Then I can show others that this is what I did. I don't want to tell people that I've learnt one or two things or have a lot of Udemy Course to my name.
I'm not interested in that anymore. Sometimes the progress feels so small, but I've learned that consistency beats intentionality at every time. This habit has changed the way I see failure too.
Before, I wanted everything to be perfect. But now I understand that perfection is not even necessary. Some people just want to get their job done.
Somebody to get their job done. I need someone who can do that, that is all. Whereas I am here and I'm still thinking, oh I need to learn this, oh I need to learn that.
Whereas what I need is to just build something and solve people's problems. If it can solve people's problems, that is all. People don't care if you took the course from Udemy or Coursera or YouTube.
Another thing I want to develop, which is a habit, is protecting my focus. Distractions abound these days, especially for me as a person. I tend to get easily distracted with Facebook, WhatsApp, checking people's status or looking at posts, and posting information on social media all around.
Then before I know it, I've started doomscrolling for hours. Before I know it, two to three hours has gone out of my productive days. I mean productive hours.
So what I have to do is replace one habit with a good one. And it can completely change a person's future. Because habits do compound.
One habit lost every day becomes hundreds of habits lost. In a year. So if I focus for one hour, it becomes hundreds of hours that I've used to focus on things in a year.
And that is, that is good. Then another thing I've known is that the future will not be determined by the number of skills I collect. But be defined by the habit of consistency.
Whereas I use those skills to solve real-life problems.
