Phetchaburi Day-Night Markets, Thailand.

(Edited)
Last week while we were down the south of Thailand in the city of Hua Hin we were told that there was a Wednesday day and night market in the town of Phetchaburi about 8km from the resort we were staying at so we had decided not to eat that day and save our appetite for this market as we were told the best of Thai foods could be enjoyed there, either take away home or sit by the park on a rug and enjoy by the market and if you needed more food the market was just across the road.

In the time, I have been in Thailand, I have been to a few markets but only smaller ones to buy some fruits and veggies, I was told this market was going to be like going to a Thai food festival and I was indeed looking forward to this occasion, here we were going to see the real Thai culture foods from many provinces and first up we came across all the spicy seafood that you could eat crabs, prawns, shells and many more guaranteed to burn you pants off or dress :)

Phetchaburi is normally a quiet town but on Wednesday when this market opens this part of town comes alive a huge variety of stalls are set up and the vendors are offering everything imaginable not only foods.

These markets are actually not set up for tourist attraction but mainly for local Thai people but it's certainly a great experience as a traveler to be wandering through these markets you can get to see many of the local produce and products all in one venue.

If you really want to see a market with, not so many foreigners and enjoy the atmosphere of the locals this is the market to come to, I really enjoyed it and the food, I tasted and ate was real Thai local food straight from grandma's kitchen.

I cannot believe it ate my post! Boo! I absolutely could have eaten this post myself! It was incredibly delicious! A wonderful #MarketFriday post!

I love the concept of #MarketFriday and how our cultures differ and then again, how much they are alike. Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages. Along with the fact of what is normal for where you live? these are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I had hoped that posting here will familiarize you with the world around you just a little bit more. Viewing it from a more personal level as opposed to the newsworthy level gives me a better understanding of the people and a view that is often not seen on National television.

I appreciate the amazing support given to #MarketFriday! Thank you! Your participation adds a piece of your world, and I have to say, people are interested in seeing it. This entire challenge has opened up the world to me and so many others. Thank you again for being a part of all this! I am so happy to see you here! I hope you have a fabulous day! Hive on!!

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

I put these here for guidance, it doesn't mean you have done anything wrong in your post, but, for someone wanting to know what it is all about, here it is! If you have any questions, contact me in discord dswigle3637 or tag me. If you need help with anything, also feel free to contact me.

Rules of the Road

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost?
  3. Post the picture(s) Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post
  4. Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post #hive-196308 (this is not required, but appreciated)
  5. Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it
  6. Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts!
  7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post. If you don't and someone reads it, there is nothing to tie #MarketFriday to that post.
  8. Please only one post each week. Believe it not, I run out of voting power if you put in many more than that.
  9. Please use good taste in what you post. If you are going to buy liquor and go on a bender, I am pretty sure that nobody wants to hear about it. Regarding the posts, I would like to hear about the post a little. Here is my market and 20 pictures, many of them blurry? I would rather see a few pictures that I can see what it is. This is not a criticism, this is to help you become a better poster. Better posts equal better payouts.

As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!
