Hello, coffee lovers...

What interesting thing did you do today? What time do you usually drink coffee every day? Are you someone who has to drink coffee in the morning?

I, almost every day drinking coffee but not too early. I usually start brewing coffee at 10 a.m. Why at this hour? There's no particular reason really, but, I always feel like I need coffee at that time. LOL

Because since I was a teenager I have always consumed ready-to-brewed coffee that has been mixed with sugar, I feel, now my stomach acid condition is not okay. I'll be nauseous and even throw up not long after drinking the brewed coffee.

In fact, coffee with sugar or milk sold by well-known brands, my stomach can no longer accept it. The safest coffee I can enjoy is single origin or house blend with no sugar.

Not long ago, I bought single origin from a coffee shop in e-commerce. Since I don't have a grinder at home, I ordered the seller to grind my coffee with a medium grind. This medium-coarse grind will be great for brewing with a french press.

The coffee I ordered was Arabica Wine Puntang.

Anyway, regarding this coffee wine, the first time I tasted the best Arabica coffee our country has, yep! Aceh Gayo coffee.

Before tasting the gayo type of wine, I tasted the usual Gayo arabica, and I was immediately convinced that I fell in love with the Arabica from Aceh. Not long ago, my friend, Dewi Nova, invited me to come to her house and served me a cup of gayo wine.

At first, I was like other ordinary people who had doubts about the name wine. continued Dewi Nova explaining that it is called coffee wine because of the fermentation process that the coffee cherry goes through and produces coffee with a wine-like aroma.

Besides Gayo wine, I also tasted Puntang Arabica wine. Single origin Puntang is coffee grown in the Puntang area, West Java at an altitude of 1600 meters above sea level.

After that, I became a subscriber to buying arabica wine for personal consumption at home.

however, this time, I tried another brand with the same variant. the coffee shop coffeenangsiamang is a brand that comes from the village of Winana siamang in Lampung, however, he works with many coffee farmers in various regions, and one of them is the Arabica wine Puntang coffee.

for 100 gr, arabica wine puntang is priced at idr 34k.

FRENCH PRESS MANUAL BREWING

The French press is the easiest manual brewing method and anyone can practice on their own.

I remember, one day, a friend of mine named Dea told me to dare to explore the taste of brewing coffee according to what I wanted. So, if there is a guide for brewing coffee about the composition of water, I don't have to be too obedient, I can make my own rules and create my own taste of coffee.

However, my friend suggested, if you want to brew with the french press method and just enjoy yourself, I just use 10 grams of coffee.

SO, LET'S BREW!

  • 10 grams of ground coffee
  • french press
  • water

If a barista would normally use a goose-neck teapot, then, I didn't use it because there weren't any. Again, it will not affect the taste of the coffee you brew.

Prepare hot water with a temperature of 95°c, or if you don't have a device to adjust the temperature, you can use an estimate, by letting the water sit for 30 seconds after boiling.

After that, pour the water into the coffee that has been put in a french press, just pour it over until all the coffee surface is submerged, mix well, then let it rest for two minutes. This technique is intended so that the coffee we brew does not have a burnt taste.

After two minutes, pour in the remaining water (I poured it to half the size of a french press), let it rest for another four minutes.
After four minutes, press the plugger down firmly but not in a hurry.

A cup of puntang Arabica coffee is ready to be enjoyed.

The taste of this puntang wine is light, fresh, typical of the pineapple flavor and the combination of passion fruit and sweetness is felt after a while. . It smells very good. It's delicious!

Thanks Hive for reading. Look forward to my next blog.

Hello @titisnariyah,
Nice post and I do agree that we might not have a set time in the mornings to drink our coffee, but it's nice to have it soon after rising.
The French Press is a simple and easy method that produces quality coffee and is a convenient manual option too.
Thank you for stopping by:)
