The Royal Kuningan Hotel; Simple Outside, Luxurious Inside
How do urban people enjoy their holidays? Residents in big cities like Jakarta are starting to shift the weekend culture by going out of town to becoming a staycation event in hotels in the city. This is clearly not general, but since the pandemic and the implementation of lock down and restrictions on interacting in public spaces, people, especially workers, prefer to stay in the city and look for the nearest hotel to rest, spend weekends, and replace the monotonous atmosphere.
And I also belong to an urban society that chooses to occasionally choose a new weekend atmosphere at a certain hotel.
Some time ago I visited a hotel in the South Jakarta area, Royal Hotel Kuningan to be precise.
As the name suggests, this hotel does have a very nice interior that seems luxurious. A comfortable five star type of hotel.
The reception desk is located on the second floor. From the entrance, customers are immediately faced with a guard desk for security. Security directs customers to the second floor. Royal provides escalator and stair access. Tall pillars lined up from the lobby to the ceiling on the reception floor.
Contemporary style that has the impression of elegance and luxury. Two large chandeliers with details resembling white flower buds hanging add to the impression of luxury.
After passing through the escalator, I found a long reception desk. sofas neatly arranged in the sitting room not far from the reception desk.
On the second floor the ceiling is set not too high and forms a curved roof. This floor is also attached to the hotel restaurant which is at the end of the room on the opposite side.
After finishing with administrative matters, I got the key and immediately headed to my room on the 10th floor.
- Bathroom
From the entrance, a welcoming hallway before going to bed. On the right side of the hall there is a bathroom. I booked a room with bathroom without bathbub. Dominated by yellow mustard marble and lighter painted walls, it gives the impression of a warm and comfortable place. There is a barrier between the closet and shower.
A merch toto closet equipped with a bidet and tissue next to it is located on the right side. While on the left side there is a shower with a glass divider, and a fairly large sink.
- Amenities
Towels are placed in a place of glass attached to the wall. Toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, soap, sewing kit, shower cap and tissue box are placed at the bottom. Two bottles of mineral water and two glasses are placed close to the sink. On the other side, a hairdryer is also provided.
The hallway before going to bed is lined with a fairly large mirror. So I can sit and take pictures of myself in the mirror. Ha ha.
- Bedrooms
King size bed arranged very neatly right in the middle of the room, like a hotel in general. On the left and right there is a nightstand. On the nightstand to the left, there is a telephone for internal hotel use, while on the other table, there is an instruction manual book for the Royal Hotel.
I was actually a bit surprised by the amount of furniture placed in this room. There is a large table placed right in front of the bed. An LED television mounted on the wall just above the table. With dark brown varnish and very heavy, I thought that this table was made of teak wood. Coffee, tea, creamer, gul, pot of hot water, cups are arranged neatly at the bottom of this table.
While right next to it, another table is placed an oval-shaped table whose surface is covered with thick glass. A single chair with a backrest looks nice behind the table. A table that functions as a work table.
Not far from the bed there is a mini sofa that only fits two people. Beside it is a small round table. Actually this room is quite spacious, but with so much furniture, I feel that the room is cramped. Maybe it's just a matter of spatial planning. But over all, everything oke and neat.
Towards evening, my friend came, yes, I asked her to accompany me to chat because I also happened to have not seen her for a long time. So, we talked for a while before going to sleep.
The next morning, I invited my friends to go around the swimming pool which is located on the second floor.
The pool area is quite large, with views of the surrounding skyscrapers. I didn't swim or just play in the water because I forgot to bring my swimsuit. Hu Hu. what a shame isn't it?
Oh, one more thing for information, there is an interesting view from the bedroom window. Yup! right next to the hotel is the KPK building, an institution tasked with eradicating corruptors in my country. The shape of the building is also unique and the paint is typical of the colors of the Indonesian flag: Red and White.
OK! that's all my review about Royal Hotel Kuningan. Hmm... thanks for reading. Ya
Hi, I am the child of the universe, I like to read books with various genres. I was born in the city of batik but can't draw batik yet. I want to be a novelist, but my works are only short poems that are included in anthology books.

Indeed. in review site, this hotel has good performance. Thank you too for stopping by and supporting me, @sorprendente🎉
Cool hotel architecture @titisnariyah. What impressed me the most is how the Architect has utilized the limited space at its entrance lobby and designed the grand staircase as a centerpiece there instead of prioritizing the check-in counters which are located on the upper level. Creative imagination without a doubt, do you think so? 😊
Agree. The design of the stairs in the lobby is deliberately designed to attract visitors. You know, @storiesoferne, as soon as it entered, my eyes were immediately amazed by this unusual design. Haha. So beautiful.
Thankyou for stopping by, anyways.
