WE~138 || Five Things That Make Me Grateful.

What five things could you have done better over the last five years?

Five years is not a long time. Five years rolled by like a flash of wind. But, as long as humans keep going and do something for their lives, five years can change many things in a person.

For five things that have progressed in the last five years, I write this with a smile. My sweetest smile for this writing.

Write a Journal Every Day

Ever since a psychologist told me that I tend to get depressed and traumatized for some reason, I've decided to keep a journal more diligently than before. Actually, journaling is not a new thing for me. I used to write about things that happened in my life since I was in elementary school, but since graduating from high school, I haven't done that much. Then, in the last five years, I started to compromise with myself, I started to diligently write in my diary. You know the huge benefits I get from that? My mind is calmer, the worries that had accumulated in my head are gradually disappearing, not completely gone, but it is greatly reduced.

In my journaling process, I don't just write, I also draw random things. Oh! I even drew my own for my journal. Let me show you. It's not very good, but, I like this picture. :)

Drive my own motorbike

Since the 2008 motorbike accident, I still dare to ride a motorbike, but only not too far away. Especially since there are online delivery services, I'm increasingly lazy to bring my own motorbike for fear. Afraid of falling again, my concentration was immediately disrupted when I was riding a moto and suddenly another vehicle grabbed me. However, I realized one thing: if I continued to use the delivery service, my expenses would be enormous. I can't save. When I checked the annual expenditure specifically for services, it turned out that the figure was quite fantastic, the money I spent reached 4 million rupiah.

Finally, slowly I started my determination to start driving by myself. And look! I can go to Pondok Indah Mall, Blok M, and Gandaria City mall by using my own motorbike. I think everyone has fear, but it's also everyone's job to deal with fear as a new power. I can save and use the budget for other, more priority needs.

Taking the time

It's about opportunity. I'm the type of person who doesn't like solid mobility. I just work-go home to boarding-sleep-work again. I always refused to be asked out, until one day it dawned on me that there was no point in sitting around doing nothing. I still have a lot of time, I should use it to be more productive besides just the monotonous work and sleep. And yep! I decided to be a contribution in a children's reading garden. I remember a movie called "Yes Man". I also want to be a "Yes Man" when someone offers me good opportunities. I've run it and I find my life is not monotonous, having many relationships is very profitable right? I can also add to my knowledge of many things by spending time on useful things.

Controlling Emotions

I'm better at controlling my emotions now. I'm also more able to accept differences of opinion when arguing with a friend, I don't want to go back to Titis who is temperamental like before, how can I do that, I share a lot with my friends and occasionally with psychologists about ways to hold back negative emotions. You know what happened? I smile more. I feel more okay because not everything is in line with the way we want. It's about acceptance.

Financial Management

Actually, I don't have any special tricks about managing finances. I just manage with the most basic knowledge: saving. I apply the priority scale. So, the money that I will spend must have a clear purpose. I also have to be able to distinguish the level of urgency when spending money beyond primary and secondary needs.

Because this thing. I was able to go to Turkey last year. Ah, I have a unique fact about dreams.

So, in 2017, I made a post on Facebook. The post is in the form of a poem that I made myself. In that poem I imagined snow (well, I live in a tropical country and had never seen snow before), but... five years since I wrote that, I finally went to Turkey in winter. Go up to Erciyes Sky Resort and play in the snow!

So, aren't dreams also part of life?"

Waaah ... I had so much fun writing this. Thanks @galenkp for such a fun theme!

Someone once told me, "There is a way out when we need a way. We just have to take that step towards it."
Do them and we see how things go. It's not late since we still have life. Have a great weekend
