Market Friday a day to explore through different market
Today is a day for market explorers in different areas with different cultures and norms, today my market is in two categories, one a service rendering market and the other is a product market, as we all no today is Friday the beginning of a weekend and we all have to look good for the TGIF
,as it is a cultural norms here in Nigeria 🇳🇬 especially among the northern(Hausa) and the south west(Yorubas) and the Muslims sisters and brothers will always put on their native attire today for prayers at the mosque, for this reason we have all emulate this ideas to always dress in native and look good on Fridays, and this is what prompted my first market picture with the shoe 👡 maker
helping me to clean and polish my slippers
and make some amendment on the spoiled areas I paid a little amount or a token for this service he rendered, its about 500 naira ($1),also I decide to visit another road side market where a young lady sell fried
🍳 potatoes 🍠 and fried beans cake 🍰 we call it (Akara)
in my native language( Yoruba) this (Akara) always go with pap a corn 🌽 flower meal we call it (ogi)
in my native language and it is always lovely to eat, I also paid a sum of 500 for the (Akara)and(ogi) with the potatoes
,($1) and all together about 1000(2$) and I really appreciate all am able to do today for my market Friday,
thanks to my dear friend @dswigle for this lovely initiative

I can see your Friday is going we
Nice one
That is really awesome that everyone takes the time to look good when going to the Mosque. Deep respect for those that take a few moments out of their day. Some people cannot afford to dress that nice, but, it costs nothing for a little water to clean.
What a great price at the shoe repairman. Even though he only cleaned them up, I think that was a fair price. The akara looked tasty! Was it good? I notice it is a staple that many eat! I would have to say that you definitely had a wonderful #MarketFriday!
Thank you so much for being a part of #MarketFriday! I am so happy to see such an awesome response to the challenge. The response was overwhelming this week, so I apologize for the brevity, It is a holiday weekend and I have had family from out of town since Wednesday, so time is not mine. I promise you, I am never this short! :)
#MarketFriday has evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is normal for where you live? These are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I can only hope this to be true.
Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:
