A Short collar kaftan gown

Materials used:

Sunrays fabric
Matching thread
Tape rule
Scissors

Cutting and Procedures

Step 1: yards of the Sunrays fabric is folded into four squarely to bring out 2 pieces which will serve as the front piece and the back piece.
Placing the two pieces on each other, the tape was placed at the edge of the fabric to measure the neckline which is a collar neckline, from the neck the desired sleeve was marked as well
The burst measurement was marked as well. Since it’s a free gown, there is no need to take waist and hip measurements.
The fabric is free from the burst to the down part.

Step 2: As a kaftan dress, the collar was measured and cut out to fit into the neckline area.

Step 3: Since the dress is a free kaftan dress which sizes 6-10 can fit there is no need to take the bust, waist and hip measurements.

Step 4 To give the dress befitting wear, it was shaped to make it a pencil kaftan gown from the knee downward.

Sewing Procedures
Step 1: The sides of the front piece were joined to the back piece from the shoulder to the sleeve since it’s cut together with the sleeve and continues up to the hip, down to the knee area and the down part.

Step 2: After joining the fabric from the shoulder. The sleeve was hemmed to make it look neater. and the rest of the sides were stitched to the end.

Step 3: The short collar was stitched to the neck region.

Step 4: The collar was a little bit ironed where it was joined and the hem of the gown was weaved.

After the dress was sewn, it was put on the mannequin for display.
The dress doesn’t need to be ironed since it’s Sunrays fabric.

This royal blue short-collar kaftan dress can be a rock to any occasion.
