Family Beyond Blood

When people talk about family, they often make it seem like it is everything and that nothing else matters more. To a large extent, that is true. Many of us are where we are today because of our families. Without a family, it would be difficult to get the necessary things in life or even be alive in the first place.
We know that there are different types of families. There is the nuclear family, which consists of the father, mother, and child or children, as the case may be. In some families, one parent may not be present because of several reasons. However, that is not the main point. Family goes beyond blood relations, marriage, and sometimes even adoption.
The question is this: just because someone belongs to a family, does it mean that the family will always be there when trouble arises? I do not think so. While some families will go to any length to care for and support their own during difficult times, others may not. It all depends on the kind of relationship they have. Even then, there may come a time when they feel they have reached their limit. That is simply human nature. Even as individuals, we can become tired when difficult situations continue for too long.
However, as important as family is, some friends are better than biological family. Some friends will go to any length to stand by the people they care about. In many cases, it is not that the family is bad. Rather, some friends are more helpful because they have no grudges against each other. They have remained close friends from the day they met, and nothing has come between them.
We know that money is one of the major causes of conflict among friends and even between partners. However, any friendship that can overcome this challenge is more likely to last for a long time. Such friends often become each other’s strongest support.
If you ask some people where their greatest help has come from, many will tell you it came from people who are not related to them by blood. That is why it is fair to say that anyone who stands by us during difficult times and genuinely cares for us is also family. Family is important, and good friends can become family, while bad family members can become like enemies.
Some people believe that if you stand by them, they will stand by you. If you are against them, they see no reason to do otherwise.
Should we then say that many relationships today have become transactional? Is everything now about what people can gain or give? Many people seem to care only about what they can benefit from. Once they feel they are no longer gaining anything, they quietly walk away from the relationship.
I like your statement that anyone who stands by us during difficult times and genuinely cares for us is also family. I agree. Don't you wish more Hive users would read and support others' posts? - that would make this more a family site or at least a caring community. We all need each other for sure. Good post!
I wish more hive users can also support each other it will make it more or less like a family being there for one another. The good thing there is some individuals are already doing that one hive it is just that not the vast majority of them that are doing it.
I personally consider family as people who makes sacrifices for you, or people who are instrumental to places of elevation that you find yourself in. But, you're right, blood is blood, but being blood doesn't guarantee anything
That is true, blood doesn’t guarantee anything. However, there are something that family can do it might not necessarily by in term of finances.
