The word airdrop has already become a household name in the crypto space hence, it is no longer strange or something new in the ears of many. However, if you are still not familiar with the term "airdrop" then this post got you covered.

An airdrop is an event or scenario in the cryptocurrency space where a certain cryptocurrency project (mostly start-ups) decides to give out a certain portion of its native token to qualified users for free. In that case, you will not be wrong if you say that airdrops are some form of cryptocurrency giveaways. Interesting, right? I mean who doesn't want free money; absolutely no one.

Now, if you paid close attention to the above definition, you would discover that the word qualified was being used. What does this imply? This tells you that airdrop requires you performing a few simple tasks even though it is a giveaway. In the conventional giveaways we see, you don't necessary need to perform any task but the case is different with crypto airdrops; you have to earn it.

Since airdrops often involve numerous participants, the concept of tasks only comes in so as to eliminate some persons while those who complete tasks satisfactorily get to receive these free tokens. I hope you are not scared because I mentioned tasks. Not to worry, crypto airdrop tasks aren't usually herculean rather simple and easy in a way.

Like I said, airdrop tasks are not time consuming because the mostly involve;

  • Following the crypto project on its various social media handles like Twitter, Telegram, Facebook, Reddit, Discord and as the case maybe
  • Liking, retweeting or sharing of airdrop announcement post
  • Tagging your friends to airdrop post
  • Writing of blog posts or
  • It might require you being active in certain group chats
    etc

Noteworthy is the fact that there are different types of airdrop and tasks vary depending on the nature of the airdrop. Just to mention, we have what is called the; Standard Airdrops, Retroactive or Takeover Airdrops, Bounty Airdrops and Holder Airdrops.

Interestingly, crypto airdrops can be very profitable and they are numerous records to proof that. Because of this, many crypto enthusiasts have been forced to be interested in airdrop activities. Similarly, many scammers in the guise of airdrops (fake token pre-sales) have carted away with people's funds. On this note, it is important that carefulness be adopted when participating in certain airdrops.

Having known this, won't you want to start hunting for airdrops? Trust me, you will be glad you did. Especially, those that are usually scared of investing their money in cryptocurrencies or those who do not have sufficient capital to venture into the business of buying and selling of crypto assets. Lastly, just in case you are thinking of where to find airdrop campaigns, the internet is your best friend. Do some researches and you will find numerous ongoing airdrop campaigns to indulge.
