IMAGO decoration - KAAMATAN IS COMING

It's the month of MEI , and it was a special month for everyone who stay in BORNEO.

HARVEST FESTIVAL IN SABAH

"KAAMATAN," or harvest festival, will be celebrated for the whole month of May. For the whole month, every district will have a kaamatan festival, especially to find "unduk ngadau" to represent the district as the most beautiful lady as a symbol of Huminodun. According to legend, Huminodun was actually a pretty girl who was sacrificed to god in exchange for good weather for their crops so they would not die from hunger. At the end of the month of May, the girls will compete against each other at the state level, and the winner will get the title "UNDUK NGADAU" . Its gonna be an awesome month , where there gonna be food , singing and party for the whole month.

IMAGO DECORATION

IMAGO is one of my favourite shopping malls. It is considered a huge mall, and many people will come and shop at this place. Interesting thing about the mall is that it never fails to make their hall decoration in the middle of the mall according to any celebration each month. Of course, they'll do the Kaamatan theme for this month.

I was quite lucky to get a clear photo yesterday. Usually, this place is crowded with people especially during the weekend. It was very difficult to get a good photo with a lot of people moving around and trying to get their own photo.

I heard that IMAGO will become the main sponsor for the Kaamatan celebration for DBKK Kaamatan. It made sense when I saw the stage being built for that occasion. Previously, they did some traditional decoration, like a village house in the middle of this mall.

The decoration is full of beautiful flowers. I guess they are trying to bring nature into their decoration.

It was also being decorated with handmade product by local from the village.

There was also traditional music being display . I think they ll do some performance using this traditional music.

Among all of the decorations, I think this is the spot where you can take an awesome photo of yourself. It just looks like a studio background.

Here are some important dates during the celebration in the IMAGO shopping mall. There's going to be some awesome performances during that date and time. Usually, I skip coming on that date because it's going to be super packed with people. I had a bad experience of being stuck in traffic for hours inside the mall because it was overcrowded. I prefer to go to another place to celebrate the KAAMATAN celebration because it was a month of parties.
