Tinko Tinko. A childhood faithful day

Wake up Chibuike...
My dad yelled towards me at about 5 am. With intense feeling of sleep, I started crying, then I stood and walked towards the door to do the regular face washing ritual before morning prayers. I got out, instead of washing my face, I was sleep standing for over 30 secs, because i had no zeal for anything but sleep.
Mum started her usual morning routine praise session...
In the morning, early in the morning, in the morning, I will rise and praise the lord...
Down to
Good morning Jesus good morning lord...
To
I will enter his gate with Thanksgiving in my life...
And so on...
Following mum to the market to arrage up goods before going to school, is another weekday routine I had.
At school, during the morning class, myself and james played 'biro fight' where I always win, because I made sure my pen had two covers on both side while his had 1 cover. James was a dumb kid not to realize mine became heavier.

During break...
We all went out to play SUWEE. A game where line of about 12 square were drawn on the floor. This game is tagged feminine and I unfortunately loved it so much.

James left me to join another group playing HIDE AND SEEK, where you will hide and others will come find you.

Oh! I envied james and I had to leave for another more hilarious game called POLICE AND THIEF. This game you'd just keep running and dodging, so your friends won't tough or catch you. Lol.

It got me so drenched.
I called james to play BIRO SOCCER. by this time I just had 2 buttons left on my school uniform. Could not risk loosing another anymore. James had to cut his button out this time.
The BIRO SOCCER is played with images of football uniform or player on a plain paper, board or desk. With biro cover as the goal keeper and button as the ball. You press the button with you pen cover from one image of your player to another 'passing'. And once you get close to your opponents box eighteen, you say, "Set your keeper" that means you wanna try a short.
The break ended, and we went back into the class.
With fun filled eyes, james brought out his book for us to play X and O.

James was good in this. Like he studied how to give "2 ways" easily. Lol!
I got angry, and insisted we play PORTING. I started by taking a stone and throwing it into James circle positioned hand. If I loose any chance, it becomes Jame turn.
At closing time we played other games in school like...

FLYING JET. where we created a jet with piece of paper, then throw it into the air. It usually flies like a real life jet, indeed.

FAN. where a paper is cut in shape of a fan, and a broom is used in the middle to enable it turn. This requires us running and the wind.

TINKO TINKO. Me and james generated different skills for this game. The game involves clapping hands with each other while saying, 'Tinko Tinko Tinkoko Tinko" lolz.

THUG OF WAR. Oh no. I was always the front man even tho I was lanky, I got smart moves and know wen to drag the opponent to our field. James was always on my team, always! Lol.

SHOOTING. We made guns with paper and used it to aim at ourselves shouting puf puf, to let your opponent know you are shooting. And he falls down and say 'I am dead' lol!

THE LAST IS A LOSER. is a run game we played while going home. You will position yourself in a way, ready to run. Removing you shoes if it won't allow you run fast. Then shouting, the last is a looser. Everyone starts running toward same direction untill you get to your house.

LEKE LEKE GIVE ME ONE FINGER.
"Flying Goose always have white fingers to spare", I was told back then.
So we would keep shouting "leke leke give me one finger", while we move our hands like a flying bird. This continues until spot of white color is seen on our fingers.

BATHE IN THE RAIN was the last game I remember playing on this day.
All naked and happy, ready to go out under the rain. I told Paul "you cannot catch me" and I started running...
I ran so fast not knowing, Paul was not chasing me.
Looking back while running under the rain, was the mistake i made that almost took my life. I slipped so fast like I was drowning, hit my rear head on the cemented ground and passed out until i woke up, today!
That was 20 years ago, the day I had the most fun a as a child.
