[ESP/ENG] Anuncia Cuba equipo para el V Clásico Mundial de Béisbol.

Terminó la espera. Cuba tiene su equipo para el V Clásico Mundial, el evento de béisbol más importante del 2023. En un programa de televisión y de una manera bastante novedosa se dieron a conocer los nombres de los 30 peloteros cubanos que defenderán los colores de nuestra selección Nacional.

Ha sido una selección que a juicio del autor es bastante competitiva y más allá de la polémica que ha generado en los aficionados cubanos es lo mejor que se podía reunir, para una justa altamente competitiva y en la que nuestro equipo tiene como máxima aspiración hacer un decoroso papel que los devuelva a los planos estelares del deporte de las bolas y los strikes.

En esta publicación el autor hará un análisis en cada una de las posiciones y emitirá sus consideraciones sobre posibles combinaciones que pudieran darse, toda vez que todos los peloteros quieren jugar y demostrar la calidad del equipo y el por qué fueron escogidos, para defender las cuatro letras que llevan en el pecho y el uniforme: CUBA.

Según los requerimientos del Comité Organizador del V Clásico Mundial, cada equipo debe tener en sus filas a 30 jugadores y su distribución estará en correspondencia con los intereses, tácticas y estrategias que tengan implementados los cuerpos técnicos para afrontar la competencia.

En el caso de Cuba los 30 peloteros estuvieron repartidos de la siguiente manera:

Valoración del autor en esta posición

Muchos han expresado el desacuerdo de llevar dos receptores, pues de lesionarse uno de estos el equipo se queda en desventaja porque es un torneo muy exigente y si Cuba logra avanzar corre el riesgo que en el hipotético caso que se lesione un receptor el otro tenga que jugar todos los juegos y no pueda ser reemplazado, para defender un resultado o para que descanse.

A favor de esta decisión hay que decir que históricamente, cuando Cuba ha llevado tres receptores el segundo prácticamente no ha jugado y el tercero mucho menos. El otro elemento es que en el equipo está Ariel Martínez Marrero que puede jugar en esta posición perfectamente y en los jardines.

Los dos receptores seleccionados tienen una gran calidad y tienen un buen desempeño en esta posición. Quizás la ofensiva no sea su punto fuerte, pero esta es una posición en la que defender es clave y evitar el robo de base vital, para impedir que te puedan hacer carreras, por malas acciones defensivas de los receptores.

Ocho jugadores de cuadro

Fue muy difícil la selección y se quedaron fuera del equipo jugadores que podían hacerlo, por la calidad mostrada y el rendimiento que tuvieron. No obstante, el autor considera que hay una buena calidad en cada una de las posiciones que decida el cuerpo técnico elegir. Todos los jugadores han tenido experiencia en circuitos profesionales de las Grandes Ligas, La Liga Japonesa u otras ligas profesionales del Caribe.

En esta posición se combinan jugadores que se desempeñan muy bien a la defensa y son buenos bateadores, algo que será esencial en el aporte que deben hacer, para respaldar el trabajo de los lanzadores.

Seis jardineros

Al igual que en todas las posiciones elegir a los seis jardineros no fue tarea fácil por la calidad de los jugadores convocados y el nivel y resultados competitivos de todos los convocados. En esta posición están los jugadores con mayor poder al bate y los que pueden cambiar la decoración de un juego o decidirlo.

Si los jugadores están en su forma deportiva óptima podrán empujar muchas carreras y contribuir a ganar partidos, pues solo Roel Santos Martínez no es un slugger o bateador de fuerza, pero su misión dentro del equipo es otra. Al igual que las posiciones anteriores todos han tenido experiencias en ligas profesionales de Japón, el Caribe y Estados Unidos.

Valoración del autor sobre los lanzadores.

Esta fue el área de juego donde más peloteros fueron convocados, casi el 50 % de la nómina lo conforman los lanzadores porque son la pieza esencial, para alcanzar las victorias que el equipo necesita, para avanzar en la competencia.

Otro elemento que valida esta tesis es que son los que más tienen que trabajar y porque el autor considera que tendrán concebido dentro del cuadro de dirección el grado de especialización de cada uno de ellos.

De tal razón el equipo tiene la posibilidad de tener a sus abridores regulares, relevistas intermedios, acomodadores y cerradores, muy acorde con lo que hacen en cada una de las ligas en las que han participado o lo están haciendo.

Un comentario final

Poner de acuerdo a todos los cubanos, en torno a la conformación de un equipo de béisbol es bien difícil porque en nuestro país todos tenemos un poco de director y conocemos de este deporte. El autor ha escuchado diferentes criterios en torno a la conformación del equipo. De una parte, están los que comentan que se debió incluir otros jugadores que militan en equipos nacionales y otros se preguntan por qué no están otros peloteros que juegan en ligas foráneas.

Más allá de los diferentes criterios emitidos la realidad es que la Federación Cubana de Béisbol logró conformar el mejor equipo posible, sobre la base de los intereses de la selección y las posibilidades de convocatoria y aceptación de un grupo de jugadores que tenían posibilidades para integrar el equipo, pero que por diferentes razones no fructificaron las acciones realizadas para su inclusión en la nómina final.

Una cosa sí es segura: este equipo tiene la calidad y experiencia necesarias, para dar un buen espectáculo y tratar de estar entre los ocho mejores equipos del clásico. De cualquier manera, pueden o no cumplir este objetivo, pero lo más importante es que vayan a divertirse y que tengan una actuación decorosa, a la altura de la historia y calidad del deporte nacional cubano.

The wait is over. Cuba has its team for the V World Classic, the most important baseball event of 2023. In a television program and in a rather novel way, the names of the 30 Cuban baseball players who will defend the colors of our National Team were announced.

It has been a selection that in the opinion of the author is quite competitive and beyond the controversy that has generated in Cuban fans is the best that could be gathered for a highly competitive fair and in which our team has as maximum aspiration to make a decent role that returns them to the stellar planes of the sport of balls and strikes.

In this publication the author will make an analysis of each of the positions and will issue his considerations on possible combinations that could occur, since all the players want to play and demonstrate the quality of the team and why they were chosen to defend the four letters on their chests and uniforms: CUBA.

Two catchers

Evaluation of the author in this position

Many have expressed the disagreement of taking two catchers, because if one of them gets injured the team is at a disadvantage because it is a very demanding tournament and if Cuba manages to advance it runs the risk that in the hypothetical case that one catcher gets injured the other one has to play all the games and cannot be replaced, to defend a result or to rest.

In favor of this decision, it must be said that historically, when Cuba has taken three catchers, the second one has practically not played and the third one much less. The other element is that in the team there is Ariel Martinez Marrero who can play this position perfectly well and in the backfield.

The two selected receivers have a great quality and have a good performance in this position. Perhaps the offense is not their strong point, but this is a position in which defending is key and avoiding base stealing is vital to prevent them from scoring runs, due to bad defensive actions of the catchers.

The selection was very difficult and players who could have made it were left out of the team, due to the quality shown and the performance they had. However, the author considers that there is good quality in each of the positions that the coaching staff decides to select. All the players have had experience in professional circuits in the Major Leagues, the Japanese League or other professional leagues in the Caribbean.

This position combines players who perform very well on defense and are good hitters, something that will be essential in the contribution they must make to support the work of the pitchers.

Six outfielders

As in all positions, choosing the six outfielders was not an easy task due to the quality of the players called up and the level and competitive results of all those called up. In this position are the players with the most power at bat and those who can change the decoration of a game or decide it.

If the players are in their optimum sporting form they will be able to push many runs and contribute to winning games, as only Roel Santos Martinez is not a slugger or power hitter, but his mission within the team is another. As with the previous positions, all have had experience in professional leagues in Japan, the Caribbean and the United States.

This was the area of the game where more players were called up, almost 50% of the roster is made up of pitchers because they are the essential piece to achieve the victories that the team needs to advance in the competition.

Another element that validates this thesis is that they are the ones who have to work the most and because the author considers that the degree of specialization of each one of them will be conceived within the management team.

For this reason, the team has the possibility of having its regular starters, middle relievers, setters and closers, very much in line with what they do in each of the leagues in which they have participated or are participating.

It is very difficult to get all Cubans to agree on the formation of a baseball team because in our country we all have a little bit of director and we all know about this sport. The author has listened to different criteria about the conformation of the team. On the one hand, there are those who comment that other players who play in national teams should have been included and others wonder why other players who play in foreign leagues are not included.

Beyond the different criteria issued, the reality is that the Cuban Baseball Federation managed to put together the best possible team, based on the interests of the national team and the possibilities of summoning and acceptance of a group of players who had the potential to make the team, but for various reasons did not fructify the actions taken for their inclusion in the final roster.

One thing is certain: this team has the necessary quality and experience to put on a good show and try to be among the eight best teams in the classic. In any case, they may or may not achieve this goal, but the most important thing is that they go to have fun and have a decent performance, at the height of the history and quality of the Cuban national sport.
