[ESP/ENG] Gana Las Tunas juego inicial de play off semifinal en béisbol en Cuba

En un play off todos los juegos son importantes porque son pocos los juegos que tienen que efectuarse y yoda victoria es importante, pero, el primer juego es clave. Esto no quiere decir que quien gane el primero quede campeón, pero es un paso de avance en la consecución de un objetivo y, además, le mete presión al equipo contrario.

Lo anterior cobra importancia si tenemos en cuenta que el equipo ganador lo hizo frente al equipo más completo de la serie y el favorito de muchos para ganar el campeonato nacional. De ahí que esta sea una victoria importantísima.

En esta publicación el autor dará sus impresiones en torno al primer juego del play off de una de las semifinales, las claves de la victoria tunera y lo que queda por delante de este play off que para nada ha dicho su última palabra.

Las Tunas vs Matanzas

Esta es una de las dos semifinales y a decir de los entendidos quien salga victorioso debe alzar el trofeo de Campeón Nacional de Cuba en esta temporada. A juicio del autor y según comentó en una publicación anterior Matanzas es el equipo favorito para ganar no sólo este play off, sino el torneo. Es el equipo más completo y tiene una serie de jugadores con experiencia en el béisbol profesional y que militan en el equipo nacional. De ahí que el juego inicial haya sido tan importante.

Los dos equipos abrieron con sus equipos titulares y sus mejores lanzadores. Mientras Matanzas que fue visitador presentaba al zurdo Naykel Cruz Las Tunas presentaba a su “caballo de batalla” del torneo Alejandro Meneses. Los dos lanzadores estuvieron repartiendo ceros en la pizarra hasta que en el cuarto capítulo Las Tunas anotó en tres ocasiones y prácticamente sentenció el partido. Una carrera más anotaría el equipo del oriente del país en el llamado inning de la suerte.

Por su parte, el equipo de Matanzas era maniatado por completo por el derecho Alejandro Meneses quien en seis innings solo permitió un hit y otorgó una base por bola. En el noveno el equipo occidental lograría anotar una carrera, para evitar la lechada, pero no pudieron evitar la derrota y perdieron con marcador final de cuatro carreras por una.

Claves de la victoria tunera ante Matanzas

Varios elementos se pueden apuntar, sobre la importante victoria alcanzada por Las Tunas, pero, a juicio del autor, estas fueron las más importantes:

•El buen trabajo de Alejandro Meneses desde el montículo que ratificó la tesis que dice que cuando hay pitcheo no hay bateo
•El bateo oportuno del equipo tunero. A pesar de no desplegar la buena ofensiva que caracterizó al equipo durante todo el torneo, esta le alcanzó para fabricar las carreras suficientes para alcanzar la victoria.
•La buena defensa del equipo. Esto fue clave y pudo respaldar el buen trabajo realizado por los lanzadores.
•El buen trabajo realizado por el lanzador de relevo. A pesar de soportar una carrera pudo sostener el trabajo del pitcher abridor y alcanzar el objetivo victorioso del equipo.
•La buena conducción del equipo de dirección y buen manejo de los lanzadores y jugadores en general.
•Buena mecánica del equipo en general.

A modo de conclusiones

Ha comenzado la semifinal de la pelota cubana y en este play off las otras tres veces en las que se han enfrentado estos equipos Las Tunas siempre abrió ganando el primer juego, pero siempre terminó perdiendo la serie. ¿Será esta una excepción?, ¿los jugadores tuneros que no fueron llamados a la preselección están dolidos y quieren demostrar que están listos para estar en el Cuba?, ¿Lograrán revertir la situación y ganarle un play off a Matanzas?, ¿Avanzarán a la gran final nuevamente?

Esas y otras interrogantes se hacen los aficionados de todo el país, pero una cosa sí es segura: a este play off le quedan muchas emociones por vivir todavía porque Matanzas tiene un equipo muy bateador, con la mitad de sus regulares dentro del equipo Cuba y con todos los ingredientes para revertir el play off.

Por su parte, Las Tunas quiere ganar y vengarse de las veces anteriores, en las que no ha podido pasar y discutir el título nacional de Cuba.

Las Tunas vs Matanzas

This is one of the two semifinals and according to those in the know, whoever emerges victorious should lift the trophy of National Champion of Cuba this season. In the author's opinion and as he commented in a previous publication Matanzas is the favorite team to win not only this play off, but the tournament. It is the most complete team and has a number of players with experience in professional baseball and who play for the national team. That is why the opening game was so important.

Both teams opened with their starting teams and their best pitchers. While Matanzas, which was the visiting team, presented left-handed pitcher Naykel Cruz, Las Tunas presented its "workhorse" of the tournament, Alejandro Meneses. The two pitchers were splitting zeros on the board until the fourth inning when Las Tunas scored three times and practically sentenced the game. The team from the east of the country scored one more run in the so-called lucky inning.

On the other hand, the team from Matanzas was completely handled by right-hander Alejandro Meneses who in six innings allowed only one hit and gave up one base on balls. In the ninth inning, the western team managed to score one run, to avoid the defeat, but they could not avoid the defeat and lost with a final score of four runs to one.

Keys to the Tunera victory against Matanzas

Several elements can be pointed out about the important victory achieved by Las Tunas, but, in the author's opinion, these were the most important ones:

• The good work of Alejandro Meneses from the mound that ratified the thesis that says that when there is no pitching there is no batting.
• The timely batting of the Tunero team. In spite of not displaying the good offense that characterized the team throughout the tournament, it was enough to produce enough runs to achieve the victory.
• The team's good defense. This was key and was able to support the good work done by the pitchers.
• The good work done by the relief pitcher. In spite of supporting one run, he was able to sustain the work of the starting pitcher and achieve the team's victory goal.
• Good leadership of the management team and good handling of the pitchers and players in general.
• Good team mechanics in general.

By way of conclusions

The semifinal of Cuban baseball has begun and in this play off the other three times that these teams have faced each other, Las Tunas always opened winning the first game, but always ended up losing the series. Will this be an exception, will the Tunas players who were not called to the preselection be hurt and want to show that they are ready to be in Cuba, will they manage to reverse the situation and win a play off against Matanzas, will they advance to the great final again, will they advance to the great final?
