[ESP/ENG] Nuestra editorial cumple años y publica el libro número 100

Hay hechos que marcan la vida de los seres humanos, algunos para mal, otros para bien. En mi caso, este es uno de los hechos de los que más orgullo siento porque significa un crecimiento profesional en mi vida y un reconocimiento de toda la comunidad científica de las Geociencias a nuestro trabajo.

Este es un resultado que para nada es privativo de quien escribe ni de una sola persona. Este se debe a la suma de muchos esfuerzos, horas de desvelos y entrega a un objetivo: Divulgar los resultados de las investigaciones científicas de las Geociencias que como parte de las investigaciones de las Ciencias de la Tierra se desarrollan a lo largo y ancho del país.

En esta publicación el autor dará a conocer algunas de las actividades realizadas, para conmemorar el aniversario 28 de la Editorial Centro Nacional de Investigación Geológica.

Nuestra editorial de cumpleaños

En 1996 nació la Editorial Centro Nacional de Información Geológica. Esta es la única editorial que publica los libros que tienen que ver con los resultados científicos de las Ciencias de la Tierra y, a lo largo de estos años se ha destacado por la publicación de libros que tienen que ver con varios centros de investigación del país, en temas tan diversos como Geología, Paleontología, Medio Ambiente, Yacimientos Minerales, Investigaciones sobre el Petróleo, Cartografía Geológica, Rocas, Minerales Metálicos y no Metálicos, Hidrogeología; entre otros.

Actividades realizadas para celebrar nuestro cumpleaños

Desde el inicio del 2024 hemos estado realizando actividades previas a la actividad central, para homenajear esta fecha. Entre otras podemos señalar:

· Actividades por el Día de la Ciencia Cubana.

· Lanzamiento de libros.

· Reconocimiento a los autores destacados.

· Edición y publicación de los libros 99 y 100 de la editorial.

Actividad central por el cumpleaños 28 de la editorial CNDIG

Para celebrar este aniversario lo hicimos de la manera en que los científicos realizan los cumpleaños de sus instituciones científicas: Haciendo ciencia y debatiendo, sobre alguna noticia, o sobre lo realizado en estos años.

En este caso decidimos hacer un panel con algunos de los autores más destacados a lo largo de estos 28 años. En esta actividad los autores expusieron parte de las principales obras publicadas, sus experiencias, insatisfacciones, logros y respondieron preguntas de los participantes en la actividad.

Una parte muy emotiva fue la presentación de los diferentes directores que ha tenido la editorial y sus experiencias en torno a fraguar una idea que nació con más sombras que luces y que, en estos años ha atesorados importantes reconocimientos, como publicar algunos libros que han sido reconocidos como Premios Anuales de la Academia de Ciencias de Cuba.

De igual manera, se premiaron a los autores más destacados en estos 28 años y, al final, se expuso una muestra expositiva con los principales libros publicados por nuestra editorial.

Un comentario final

Estas actividades las realizamos, como parte de las acciones que se realizan en todo el país en el marco de la Feria Internacional del Libro que auspicia el Ministerio de Cultura de Cuba, la Cámara Cubana del Libro y otras instituciones que tienen que ver con la fiesta de la lectura, de la cual nuestra entidad es miembro.

Han sido varios días muy emotivos, en los que los trabajadores de nuestra editorial hemos estado de fiesta y aniversarios.

A necessary introduction

There are events that mark the lives of human beings, some for the worse, others for the better. In my case, this is one of the facts that I am most proud of because it means a professional growth in my life and a recognition of our work by the entire scientific community of Geosciences.

This is a result that is by no means exclusive to this writer or to any one person. It is due to the sum of many efforts, hours of sleeplessness and dedication to an objective: to disseminate the results of scientific research in the Geosciences that, as part of the research in the Earth Sciences, are developed throughout the country.

In this publication the author will present some of the activities carried out to commemorate the 28th anniversary of the National Center for Geological Research Publishing House.

Our birthday publishing house

In 1996 the National Center for Geological Information Publishing House was born. This is the only publishing house that publishes books that have to do with the scientific results of the Earth Sciences and, throughout these years it has stood out for the publication of books that have to do with several research centers of the country, in topics as diverse as Geology, Paleontology, Environment, Mineral Deposits, Petroleum Research, Geological Cartography, Rocks, Metallic and Non-Metallic Minerals, Hydrogeology; among others.

Activities carried out to celebrate our birthday

Since the beginning of 2024 we have been carrying out activities prior to the central activity, to honor this date. Among others we can point out:

• Activities for the Cuban Science Day.

• Launching of books.

• Recognition of outstanding authors.

• Edition and publication of the 99th and 100th books of the publishing house.

Central activity for the 28th birthday of the CNDIG publishing house

To celebrate this anniversary we did it the way scientists celebrate the birthdays of their scientific institutions: Doing science and debating about some news, or about what has been done in these years.

In this case we decided to make a panel with some of the most prominent authors over these 28 years. In this activity the authors presented part of the main published works, their experiences, dissatisfactions, achievements and answered questions from the participants in the activity.

A very emotional part was the presentation of the different directors that the publishing house has had and their experiences in forging an idea that was born with more shadows than lights and that, in these years has treasured important recognitions, such as publishing some books that have been recognized as Annual Awards of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba.

Likewise, awards were given to the most outstanding authors in these 28 years and, at the end, there was an exhibition of the main books published by our publishing house.

A final comment

We carried out these activities as part of the actions carried out throughout the country within the framework of the International Book Fair sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of Cuba, the Cuban Book Chamber and other institutions involved in the celebration of reading, of which our entity is a member.

It has been several very emotional days, in which the workers of our publishing house have been celebrating parties and anniversaries.
