Fair enough.
If Elon prefers to use DOGE instead of BTC or another of the multiple crypto alternatives as a means of payment, I applaud him and praise him.
The important thing is not that dogecoin is a Meme token, the important thing is the use of a decentralized Blockchain as a means of payment, and even more important is that it is based on PoW which even more guarantees decentralization, in my opinion.
Despite what we may think regarding how stupid DOGECOIN may be, the technology behind this MEME Token is the same or practically the same as that of BTC.
We are not going to deny either that, when moving our BTC between exchanges and other financial tools, the use of DOGE, LTC, XMR etc... makes the transaction at the level of fees almost zero cost while when we use BTC , the fee is much higher...
Obviously ETH takes the most expensive Blockchain trophy in the world in terms of usability.
Honestly, when from time to time I receive free money due to airdrops or rewards from other platforms in the ethereum network, I know that, depending on the magnitude of the "gift", those tokens will remain in my metamask wallet for an indeterminate time because, most of the time, its swap or its transfer to my cold wallet has an exaggerated cost with respect to the value of the token itself to be moved.
Binance Chain, a centralized copy of the ethereum chain, solves the problem of fees, simply because it is totally centralized in the hands of one entity... which, in my opinion, is a great danger that we should avoid, I already talked about this in other posts regarding BINANCE and CZ but I continue to reiterate my position, BINANCE has such power today that, in my opinion, it represents a potential danger for the entire crypto world in case something happens to them or they decide to do.
So, yes, I am really happy that Elon re-announces the use of REAL CRYPTO as a means of payment and that he supports the decentralized movement, despite using DOGE, the entire crypto sphere will benefit. It's a great step beyond!

Rather than BTC vs DOGE, it is better that a crypto coin is being used in real world mainstream transactions. Wait until ETH 2.0 to transfer those gift tokens :)

Eth gas fees is why I never got into anything that tallies with their project or coin. I just want afford to pay such fee when I have Hive.
You can also be right about binance but at the moment they are still the best alternative, so until we have another option it's still best to use bsc. The future is definitely going to lessen the power of centralized entities like them. Time is all it's going to take.

I’m not using BINANCE anymore, there are no KYC exchanges pretty good around.
I stopped using binance when they email me daily requiring kyc, seems like threatening sort of. Give you a day to kyc so naturally i just ignored it. Then again move the day forward again and again. Eventually that's it no more email from then because they know that you not giving then anymore business ( all the commission adds up ) so now I use kucoin so good service !

Dogecoin is faster and cheaper than most of the top 10 cryptos, BTC included. Aside from that, still a shitcoin, but for the sake of payments, it works fine.
