A Weird Day.

This is my first time posting on this Community. I hope I'll be able to make you all smile with how weird my day went.

It was just a normal day at my house and I was so happy as I'd informed my mum ahead of time that I wanted to go out to visit my friends. Finally, after so many years, she agreed to let me go out. Every Nigerian could relate to this. I mean, as a girl, you should know what I am saying.

I was so excited for my mum to have allowed me to after so much pressure. I called my friend in question and indeed we have planned it so well to the extent of preparing a dish while out there. I prepared fully for the following day after which the unexpected happened.

My sister who was initially in agreement suddenly changed at dawn. She called my mum and said what I was not expecting to hear.

I had a dream just last night and it was about my little sister's move to visit her friend. I dreamt about her outing which happened to be terrible. Mum!!! You should know that my sister is a grown-up girl and to be sincere I agreed with her outing, but not until this morning.

When she was talking, I was just like why is my sister bringing up this at the eleventh hour? I hope she would not say what would disturb my outing with my friend.

My sister proceeded:

I had a dream about my sister's outing. I saw her running away with a guy and it seemed to be real. I think she should not go ahead with the outing.

I was melting and deep inside of me, I was fuming and abusing my sister. I did not know how and when tears rolled down my cheeks. It was so frustrating for me. I tried arguing with my mum to allow me out but she only shouted and told me to go and prepare dinner.

My mum told me to cook for dinner and we were to eat rice and fire plantain popularly known as dodo. As Nigerians, we have a habit within us of cooking. I decided to go to the market to buy the plantain and stew ingredients. I also bought ripe plantains which I was supposed to use for dodo.

It's time to cook, you know.
I immediately entered the kitchen just to have the dinner prepared and guess what happened next? I fried the plantain (dodo) first before cooking the rice and stew. As a normal Nigerian, one cannot watch the well and delicious food plantain lying in the kitchen without having a taste of it. So, I decided to take one slice of it. Omo!!! It was so delicious and the taste was mouthwatering. I could not stand it, instead, I took extra.

While cooking, I was singing a refreshing song which made me get carried on with the dodo until it got finished. I was shocked to see the plate empty. There was nothing I could do to tell my sister what I had done and how she could help me out.

Now my parents are back and yet the dodo was not on the ground. What should I tell them about the dodo?.
