Dyn-Dyn's Immunization Last Friday

Last week, we received a notification that there's a scheduled immunization in our place this Friday. Aling Ising, the one wearing blue, had told us that there was one in the area, but since we were buying something in a store, we forgot to ask about the time and location.

Since the community is small most of the old residents know each other. The residents in the area know April's family, especially her father, as they are well-known in the community. If asked for the pineapple farmer, it is easy to trace him.

The last time that we had Dyn's immunization was before the barangay election. They elected a new chairperson and relocated the barangay hall. We were just told that the new location for the immunization is near the store, with a cell site tower and a beautiful gate.

Dyn and April are now weaning, hence our little girl's sleep pattern is haywire. She woke up around three AM and hadn't slept since that day.

After work around five AM, I sat down with the two and asked what's their plan and if they would sleep as it was still early, Dyn wasn't in the mood for sleeping anymore thus we prepared ourselves to go to the place.

We first ate at Nanay Doray's mami house. Usually, if I feel laziness of not cooking for breakfast we either go to Tita Nessie and buy some porridge, pandesal to Kuya Ido'y and lastly Nanay Doray's mami. Since the prior two is not in our way, we picked the mami this time.

We ate until six thirty and decided to walk our way to the place since we are not familiar with it.

Though it is early, the sun's shining so bright already. We searched for the location, but unfortunately, we did not find it. We were walking in circles and even reached the old barangay hall to ask for the place. Until one local noticed us, it might be because we just kept on walking back and forth to her store and said.

"Kayo ba ay yung magpapabakuna?" (Are you here for the immunization?)

We said yes, and she pointed to the place, and to our surprise, it was just a stone's throw away from where we were resting.

So we entered the gate, and there we saw the medical health workers. There's no one availing the service yet as it is too early and Dyn's assisted by them.

She got the polio shot this time. As they checked her vaccination card, they noticed that everything was complete for the primary vaccines. April told the workers that some of the shots were given by the workers in Biñan where we had resided. Dyn's voting process is already done as everyone's joking in the scene. Excited by the marker on her nail, she said that it was pretty.

We left the place and thanked the staff for their hard work and was advised that they will either notify tatay or someone from the family if there's another schedule for Dyn.

Very good naman, Dyn-Dyn! Great job completing her vaccine, mom and dad! With the increasing number of pertussis cases in the country, we are considering getting DPT boosters for the kids, but it's expensive, so we are still saving.

Immunization for our kids are very important. Even we who also struggles to walk and paddle our boat didn't miss the chance to get our kids to vaccination center.
