Honestly Speaking Do You See Yourself as A Writer?
It is a holiday, and our office is closed until Monday. Rather than being online, creating works, and curating content, I am stuck in my bed sleeping. I got a cold that hinders me from checking my computer from time to time as I sneeze too hard to the point that my brain will pop out if I continue to do so. It is exaggerated, but that's what it looks like. Consecutive sneezes that you want to stop, but you can't. I am dying every second.
While I am in such a state, I try to be still productive in some way by reading a book. This time it is still from Jeff Goins and the book's titled You Are A Writer.
The first few words of the said book, already pique my interest, as I think of myself as not being a writer of no sort. True that I try to create daily content but fail over the course of time, but I never believed that I am one.
For me, a writer is someone who creates pieces of their work and earns from it. It may be a book or a blog or something published, and that's simple as it is. I sway away from the idea that I am one of those, but in truth, I aspire to be one. Maybe you too have the same connotation, or maybe it is just me?
I am at a loss in the sea of thoughts and ideas, self-doubts, and ridicule that I am not good enough to become one. I downplay myself because I am not hitting the criteria that I have set.

Aren't we doing it now in our blogs? We write and communicate with others. So why is it hard to accept that we are already a writer?
You have a fear of people knowing you are one. Writers are put on a pedestal of high regard, someone worth listening to. You are not that kind of person, you spew words just for the sake of releasing them to your mind so that it will not be bothering you anymore.
You are also afraid of having lapses in grammar. You believe that writing is just for people who finished a degree in journalism, English, or even communication arts. You never had one nor ever been a part of a school editorial team when you were studying.
Because no one believed that you can, even yourself.
I am in this constant loophole. As I create drafts, I wonder if this is something that I should create. Who's my audience? Is this going to the void of nowhere or maybe it will resonate with someone? To be honest, I really do not know.
I just put it out there in public, be judged and scrutinized so that I can get it off my mind already.
But for now, I will say that I stopped being an aspirant anymore. Because aspirants just take the motivation and then stopped when it is getting hard.
Though it is hard to chew on. My journey as a writer starts now. Am I a good one? Who knows, but at least I moved out already from my previous place. I am now moving.
If asked, do you see yourself as a writer? Why?
I started blogging para ma enhance yong pagiging frustrated writer ko. kahit na puro wrong grammar ako nagsusulat pa rin ako. dahil sa pagiging ghost writer for several websites and blogs, I earned money. I can call myself a writer pero hindi yong pinakamagaling. I don't care kung walang nagbabasa dati sa travel blog ko but it turns out meron pala. at dami ko na rereceive na messages how they got inspired to start a travel blog at para mag solo travel. sa travel blog ko, yong mga audience ko mga budget travelers.
wala akong journalism background pero pag may time talaga, maganda talaga mag join ng mga writing workshops.

Never thought of this one! Just now na when I ventured into blogging na gusto ko pala talagang magsulat though not sure kung paano but somehow a small voice inside of me is saying to write something for oneself
I need this! I mean, more on the rewards now hopefully I can resonate with someone. Little by little I understand that the person that I am reaching out to is myself na pala.
Sa true dito! I had joined some storytelling workshop and writing workshops nung nag sta start. Kailangan lang talaga ng oras to learn new things.
may nag encourage na sa akin mag sulat ng libro. meron din iba naiinis sakin sa isang fb group kasi mala Wattpad daw yong story. hahaha! dami ko daw kwento, nainis na yong mga moderators kaka approve. haha baka ma share ko sa tagalog trail yong mala Wattpad story ko soon. XD
Ay push dyan sa kwento na iyan! HAHAH di ko na nagawan ng follow-up yang tagalog trail nako buti na remind mo ako.
Ipupush ko sya kasi na frustrate ako slight di ako maka solve sa Rubik's cube. I need to divert my attention. Di ako makatulog ng ilang gabi. lol
Hahha ayan nakapag sked na ako ng prompt ng contest. Di ko pwedeng i post agad magiging spammering eh hehehhehe

I feel this way everytime I publish a blog. Sometimes I wish nobody will read it. 😆 But feel sad when nobody will... Hahah.

For me, blogging is a form of writing, as doodling is a form of drawing. Am I a writer? not by background no and in all truth very far from it. Do I want to be a writer? not really, although by doing all this blogging change the course of the things I want. Well, some goal that was made from it I'd say. I think we are writers in our own way. :) I started writing my thoughts way back in high school when we were required to create our own poems. (napilitan lol) but in a way it ignited my interest in putting what's in my mind into words.
I am also keeping my own personal journal where I only allow myself to read it. :D then few years ago learned to write blogs, not very good at it though, but I can see myself improving from one blog to another. Now letting others read what's going on with my life and all.
Ayyy this one I had some regrets. If I focused more into the English and Fil subjects back then probably there may be changes pero wala still addicted pa ako into computer games and cutting classes hahah.
I was keeping a journal back then din, just a few sey phrases and some questionnaires pero wasn't able to keep it up. ( Plan to do it in the future )

You're a great writer to because you can write with different topics.
In my case, personally I can't call myself a writer but instead a story teller because all or atleast most of my blogs are my stories, stories of being a mother, being a wife, stories of little travel, relaxation, gardening and others. I can't write without stories or experiences.
How many times I wanted to write different topics but I can't if it didn't happen in myself or if I didn't experience it.
But base on the definition, we are a writer. We just need to write and write to improve.

I do learn from your blogs and relatable, especially when it comes to books, food, and werk.
I used to be a part of journalism nung nag aaral pa but I didn't see myself as a writer talaga na may published books kahit I majored in Literature. I'm more on the analyzing side. I work as an Editor din and I must say, mas naeenjoy ko magbasa at magcomment sa mga gawa ng writers kaysa mag sulat.

I think we're all writers here. We write our thoughts, and we write from our hearts. We don't know if there will be someone who will read our posts, yet we continue writing.
So yes, I think we're a writer of sorts. 😅

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling unwell and dealing with a cold. It can be frustrating when our bodies don't cooperate, especially when we have plans or tasks we want to accomplish. However, it's important to prioritize our health and give ourselves the rest and care we need to recover.
Taking the opportunity to read a book, even while resting in bed, is a great way to stay engaged and still be productive.
This I realized each time that I am on extended weekends off I am getting sick haha feels like my body's telling me to slow down and rest for a while.
I have a goal this year and hopefully finish certain number of books so far I am not nearing half of my goal yet hahha.
I don't from the beginning. Haha
However, writing something makes me learn. That's all that matters to me.☺️

You are indeed a writer @tpkidkai maybe you just don't notice it but many Hive users followed your thoughts and articles on various topics. Many new Hive users even learned from you, I'm one of them.
Having a good reputation in the community and being here for the past few years, it's not an easy tasked to accomplished. If you're on Hive and have such a huge HP and reputation, you are really a writer, because without writing nobody will know you in this community.

Most people can write; anybody can be a writer. It's the skill and passion that differentiates writers. Each writer has a different personality and style, and I guess this is what readers look for on who to follow.
If one earns on something while they are doing it, you call them a 'professional'.
What I'm curious about is on the average time a typical writer takes to write a blog post in Hive. For me, I feel like it takes me at least an hour I guess, maybe because I'm such an overthinker, hehe. :)
This is what I am trying to know nowadays - what is my voice as a writer. On a personal level and probably how people perceive what my voice is. Kinda stuck on it since I do the random blogs from time to time haha.
Since we are earning here are we now called professional? Gandang pakinggan ano. Maybe if we think that we are pro on this field maybe something will be changed internally.
