Lemon verbena and a nostalgic #gardenjournal

avatar

New babies on board! Lemon verbena finally arrived !
We made an order for a few thousand herbs last May (yes, year 2021!) and till now we haven't received not even half of the order. The winter was unusually cold and the nurseries were destroyed twice, so imagine our joy when this fragrant little plants arrived!

Look at this beauty!

IMG_5101.jpg

We planted them a few days ago before we live for our holiday and a good friend takes care of them and their watering while we are away! There is no single day not thinking of them but at the same time I am SO HAPPY to be in another place and another mood for a while. Although I am thinking of ways on how to keep the holiday mood even when we will return. Gardening certainly helps me feeling down to earth and being out at the fresh air is always pleasant and uplifting. Combined with a beautiful beach, life can be dreamy :)

The temperature has risen a lot, many days over 30°C and mulching is one of the most important tasks! A lot more to do when we will get back.

As always in life, some are working harder than others :)

IMG_5090.jpg

Spring has brought some green color to our garden and the view is nice. Everything will be ok and the plants will grow healthy and happy, is the mantra while wandering around. Here are some lemon balm plants next to olive trees, still small but they look fine.

IMG_5087.jpg

What seems to be doing really well is the rosehips, growing very fast.

IMG_5086.jpg

Onions and rosemary at the background.

IMG_5085.jpg

Everything is bigger than tiny rosemary, I hope it will not cause them any inferiority complex :)

IMG_5083.jpg

The new leaves of the linden tree make my heart sing :)
So beautiful! Another transplantation that seems to be successful.

IMG_5345.jpg

IMG_5346.jpg

While the laurel is having a hard time... No idea why. Too much water maybe?

IMG_5344.jpg

When we'll be back the potatoes will be ready for hilling. When we left they were this size.

Happy gardening everyone! Time with the soil is time well-spent :)

Whoever is directly controlling the V2K told me to kill myself.
They told me if I killed myself now it would save the lives of countless others.
Saying the longer I wait to kill myself the more people will suffer.

They are reckless and should have shown the proper media what they had before taking me hostage for 5 years. I know there are many in prison that dont deserve to be there because of this. Your stay in prison will not be fun @battleaxe and friends. People are going to want you dead when they find out what you did. I hope you die a slow painful death. You sick mother fuckers.

Its a terrorist act on American soil while some say its not real or Im a mental case. Many know its real. This is an ignored detrimental to humanity domestic and foreign threat. Ask informed soldiers in the American military what their oath is and tell them about the day you asked me why. Nobody has I guess. Maybe someone told ill informed soldiers they cant protect America from military leaders in control with ill intent. How do we protect locked up soldiers from telling the truth?

Haha rosemary has a tough ego, I am sure it'll be showing off soon. Wait til your lemon verbena is big enough to make cordial.. yum. And where is @fotostef... Is he asleep whilst you slave in the sun? Jealous of the linden... I want one!!!

I guess their tough ego will show off when they will become taller than 10cm, one day :)
Oh yes, cordial!!!
@fotostef takes pictures, while Markos, as you can see at the photo, doesn't move his butt a bit, while I am working hard. It is all documented :)
Can't you have linden there?

I am not sure, must research... We can grow most things except tropical plants.

Not sure either, but I think it will be fine there. As I remember your garden from that photo by drone you had posted once, you have the perfect space for such a big tree to grow! We planted it in a corner and it has to compete with some big oak trees, ooops, but I believe in it :)

I am enjoying watching your beautiful garden come to life. Lemon verbena is a plant I find at farmers markets. I plant 4 each year. I can't imagine planting so many as you do!

It will "only" be 300 plants, hehe!
So happy to share the progress of the garden with you and so glad you enjoy it!

Time well spent in the garden indeed. It's looking great! I love the scent of Lemon Verbena, it's an essential oil favorite but I haven't spotted any plant in the Philippines so far. Does the herb give off a scent too?

Imagine a tiny plant of 5cm spreading its scent in a diameter of 2 meters!!! We are talking about pure joy! One of the most enjoyable plantings and an overdose of pleasure :)
I am a fan of lemon verbena scent too as you can see 😁

Maybe you can find one to experiment with, I hope so! If not, well, you already have so many plants that I would like to have and I can't grow them here, so I guess we have to accept it :)
