Food Sharing #313 - Souri @ Central World, Bangkok @ Thailand

Hi Everyone,

One of the goals when going to Thailand was to try the desserts from Souri. This store is opened by one of my fav Thailand actor Win Metawin and is a very popular dessert store amongst locals. The brands started during COVID when Win decided to make macaro0ns and ice cream. Souri is operated mainly as pop-up stores in various locations at a designated time so fans around the city could buy them at different locations. I was at Central World and the store was right there so I had to get some to try.

The store was filled with colourful macaroons with the ice cream on the left-hand side. I wanted to buy all of them but the prices of each are pretty expensive by Thailand standards. I bought a box of six and chose various ones the kids chose. We also bought 2 ice cream, a scoop of double chocolate and lemon tart which is Win’s favourite according to the staff. The lemon one is packaged differently therefore I could eat it a bit later after we have lunch.

At an average of around 90-100 baht (around $4AUD each) per macaroon, it is pretty expensive but I can see why they would be able to charge that price. The size of each macaroon is actually much bigger/taller than the usual ones you get from the cafe and of course, the brand itself is very reputable. Each macaroon was nicely decorated and each of them tasted delicious. Not one of them I didn’t like and I was actually surprised how fresh it was even after a day we bought them.

The only downside is there aren’t many stores around Bangkok. There was only 3 pop up stores available 2 weeks ago but luckily most of them are at central places so it is not hard to find. Highly recommend you try these yummy desserts at Souri, it is worth the hunt if you are in Bangkok.
