The Ups & Downs of Being A Parent

avatar

Hi Everyone,

The last fortnight has been rough for me not just work but with the family. Baby M has been sick and Baby E had to get his eyes checked. Baby M had a small running nose, we can’t take him to daycare so we had to take him to the doctor. With him working with me and trying to entertainment is hard. Work has been tough with many things due leading up to Christmas, so everything is coming at once. Then it was time to check Baby E’s eyes as 6 months ago we got him checked and they advised to get it checked again if anything has changed. Luckily, the optometrist told us his eyes are fine with perfect vision so our worries of him not seeing properly is no longer there.

After the ‘downs’, there are also ups. The boys are doing well with learning Chinese. Baby M started learning Chinese and have started to write 1 -4 in the character form. 4 was challenging for him but with him only 3.5 years old, it is not bad. Baby E on the other hand have improved a lot and I am very proud of him. We don’t do much practice with Chinese and for him to still remember and writing the correct stroke order, this is something he should be proud of. I’m very happy with progress and hopefully can continue into 2021.

Yes, when the kids are sick then it becomes impossible to get anything else done.
You just have to look after them and feel terrible because they are.

I know right no matter how old they are and the younger they are, the more difficult it is. We even got a COVID test done yesterday cos the other one is sick now ..... never ending story haha

I am glad that there are more ups than downs, as should be in raising a family!
Also happy to know that they are learning Chinese now!

Being a parent is hard! lol .... I'm glad I started introducing them to some Chinese so at least they can get some understanding of the characters and pronunciation

They say that learning characters is advantageous. A couple friends of mine have their kids go to Chinese language school. 🥰🌺🤙
