Espresso at home: making my own coffee π βοΈ
Last month, I've been contemplating on buying myself an espresso machine. I love coffee. Next to water, coffee is the drink I couldn't say no to. I have tried different ways of making my own coffee: pour over, French press, cold brew, moka pot, and of course instant coffee mix. It depends on whether I have enough time to indulge myself of the process of making coffee, my preference always depended on that.
The times I was assigned to work from home, I was able to enjoy slow mornings with a cup of coffee. That's when I realized that I've got to have a good cup of coffee everyday. It's a must that I should cultivate, that goes with my dream of a quality life. Enough of my hesitations, I decided to buy an espresso machine, in addition, I also bought a manual coffee grinder so I can have fresh coffee grounds to use.
my coffee nook
All my equipment just got delivered this week so I just temporarily set this up as my coffee nook. I'm planning to have a custom made table that can hold space for all these. I also got my coffee beans (espresso) online, I love that everything's in your reach now, you just have to wait patiently before it gets delivered to your doorstep. π
fresh coffee grounds
Using my coffee grinder, it took real effort to make fine coffee grounds using the freshly roasted beans I got. A single shot espresso is made using 7g of coffee grounds and 14g for a double shot espresso. My coffee machine can make single and double shots so I decided to go for the later option βthe more the better.
double shot espresso
This may seem instant compared to the other ways of making coffee but I truly enjoyed the process and the taste too! I was thinking if it's just my lack of experience in using the moka pot on making espresso or it's really the difference in the pressure of the two equipment. This coffee machine works on 15 bars of pressure, a pretty good machine for beginners like me.
a foamy hot latte
A common mistake! On the first and second time that I've tried frothing milk, I still haven't figured out how to get away with the too much foam (layers) on the milk. I will have to do a lot of practices in order to get that silky texture so that I can move forward to the art of making latte. The taste was really great though, I'll just have to work on my skills of making latte art. π¨
a refreshing iced latte
I love cold drinks! For me, iced latte gives that refreshing feeling you get when you drink a cucumber lemonade drink haha. This coffee drink was so easy to make since all I had to do was pour the espresso on the glass of milk and ice. This is a perfect drink for me, something I'd like to have in the night, especially when I still have some work to do. I'm excited to explore and make more coffee drinks using my espresso machine. But for now, my heart's really happy that I get to drink good coffee everyday. π

I prefer to drink it hot, like a kind of soul-warming Haha π€£
Hahaha I get you! Whenever I would sit down and read a good book, I would always brew coffee to accompany me. I really enjoy a hot cup of brewed coffee whenever I read, even when it's summer. π
Latte is fine, but still the black americano for me. π
I didn't want to took too much at the coffee machine. Another budol might happen. Haha
Ahh classic β¨that's my usual order in coffee shops. Hahaha sulit buy 'to for me π€£best purchase of 2022 already kahit January pa lang. π₯²
I saw that brand on shoppee and it's on my cart now π€£ the thing is, I move a lot and I am quite confused as to where to put my coffee machine. It would be a chore moving them often.
That's a problem I'm about to face when I get called back to work π I just got it online too (Lazada), one of the cheapest espresso machines I saw. Hope you check it out from your cart soon π€£
Can i visit you once in a while and have coffee with you? hahaha your coffee looks so inviting π
That would be nice π€ and enjoy a good conversation over coffee. One of my dreams is to put up a little coffee shop haha, somewhere people could meet their friends or spend their time alone. π
mine is a pastry shop with coffee on the side of course hahaha
Hello @travelingmercies, that's the nice thing about coffee; There are so many different methods of preparing it and getting different textures and tastes.
Somehow I get that tooπ
Thanks for sharing your method of preparation with us.
Have a nice day:)
Yup!! I am excited to try out more coffee recipes, it would be so nice to have it all documented and share it here again. :) Have a nice day too!
that ice latte looks really good !! keep on frothing milk and you will get there. you can even practice even better with soapy water, so you wont waist milk.
Yayy, thank you for that very helpful tip! Looking forward to making latte art like the one on your profile picture. :)

Love this! Definitely a bad day with coffee is better than a good day without coffee π Looking forward to see more of this π
