Core Number Compounding 2021-12-10

Bitcoin has not been able to sort itself out. We are seeing the results with altcoins. All my holdings have come down in recent days, which includes HIVE. For this reason, Core Number Compounding (CNC) has been winding up the spring.

Core Number Compounding With HIVE

I started with 617.462 HIVE and 102.444 HBD. This morning, I have 606.06 HIVE and 84.263 HBD. While I have had a mix of buys and sells, they are about even in frequency, which is problematic given how asymmetric the buys and sells are.

However, with a little patience, this can turn out to be a good thing when the market decides to turn around. I will have locked in lower and lower cost HIVE.

In the few days that I have been putting CNC to work, I've had a few sells of approximately 1% gain. I have had a couple of instances in which I've had to sell twice in a row. So, it hasn't been all bad. Despite the overall downward trend, HIVE has not disappointed with volatility, which is the engine that makes CNC work. There has been at least one morning, afternoon, and evening transaction each day, if not more.

Looking at the difference between my starting position and current position, I can't help but realize that my first transactions were big losses due to the difference in price between Coingecko and the Hive Currency Market. I did not pay attention to the price difference. I thought maybe my loss was minor. However, it seems it may have been significant.

December, I understand, tends to be overall bearish. So, I think I need to survive this month to put CNC to the test. I'll need to beef up my HBD reserves.

My experiences with Hive lead me to believe that it is not really that volatile, I think because more people Earn/Buy and hold for long periods of time. The reason for this is the more Hive Power a person holds the more they can do on the blockchain.
I use dollar-cost averaging for Hive and HBD it seems to work really well, I have also applied it to Index and CTP Tokens.

Lately, we have been fluctuating between 1.50 and 1.80 HIVE. And, we have those occasional pumps. These are enough to make CNC work.

Ultimately, I may have to pull the cash back out. I have a competing interest at the moment.

This is why we call them experiments. If we knew exactly what would happen we would call them "for sures". Thanks for continuing to share the ups, downs, and sideways of your CNC experiment.
