Cacti+ close-ups!
not Pachanoi
Hi, folks! :)
At last! Somehow I'm able to upload 10 photos here and make my first post...It's been some time...trying...
As some of my connections from all around #hive already know...
I'm Trayan from Bulgaria and I love cacti and succulents...
especially magic cacti :D
And because of this I'm likely going to mention #weedcash, to be sure homies not going to miss those photos!
Mainly what you see is my San Pedro & peruvianus hybrid cacti, which I'm growing from seeds since 2006 and also propagate them through cuttings :)
Some friends have got gifts, some managed to take care others not.... and actually Cacti really like to leave them alone ..without bothering.
You can also spot two photos of some aloe cousins. I''m not sure if they're medicinal too, but make quite good decoration and addition to the garden.
The other cool cactus is this one, which makes fruits after flowering, maybe they're not edible but I ate one once... :)
And the cactus with the leaves instead of spikes ~ I took 10 years ago from Portugal. There was a whole forest like patch with them in a farm :)
That's good for now...
Hope you are well too!
Peace & Light!

I like cacti too;)
do you try to cook them? I watched a video about it, but I've never tried it;)
either eat them raw or make smoothie / beverage ;)
and how do you clean them from needles?:)
pliers... and then remove the hard wax skin by hand :)
nice collection! :)
thank you! :)

I was about to ask you how do you care for cacti? But I guess leaving them alone is a good bet. Any other tips?

Thanks for asking! :)
Well they have characters too.
I mostly care for/ about the magic ones tho...
What I understood during the years is that they don't like full-on sun, as expected. Actually they burn / boil themselves very quickly. They don't like rains only without sunny days in between :)
(if cacti are grown from seeds ,it's a whole new story and a lot of care + patience during the first 4-5 years)
I suppose my cacti are still infants, not letting them grow too much cause i need to move them inside for winters :)
I've had a big one before... he rotted, I couldn't even save a piece from it to propagate :) ...the mold spreads so fast and infects even when cutting...
You can count the years looking at the growing patterns along the stem. And that's a good idea for the next post to show the growth on a photo.
What can I do for cacti to grow good and faster...is like other plants....
nutrition, good soil/medium, fair light/sun and clean water :)
(i only use compost, but put many pebbles inside and on top :P and some snail shells- AS A TROPHY :D... joking but yes cacti love some limestone, clay chunks, gypsum?!)
I never saw my SanPedros bloom :| (because of becoming dormant during winters)
I tried growing peyote several times, but with no luck for me :)
For now just continuing to grow!
I heard peyote takes 10-12 years to mature in nature, but in a greenhouse it can take 3-5 years.
And does peyote have the highest Mescaline content? Or is it a different cactus? Peyote and San Pedro seem to be the most popular. I do recall that there where quite a few cacti that had mescaline.
Peyote does have the highest mescaline content and it is a different type of cactus.
I think many other cacti synthesize mescaline, but with much lower concentration (I'm not sure about that).
It looks like you fixed your Liketu problem, what was it?
yes i did
not sure..it just allowed me to upload the pics :)
