A sound body is a sound mind

Say fit

It's important to stay fit because a sound body leads to a sound mind or at least that's what I grew up learning. I'm not a gym person, not for now but I have plans of going to the gym when I'm finally settled. I won't lie that I work out everyday just trying to stay fit but I've learnt some of the importance of staying fit so I feel the need to stay fit both physical and mentally.

One of the reasons I try to stay fit is so I do not ever underappreciate my body. The first person to love your body should be yourself and so it is important to keep this body well taken care of. Before I proceed with my routine, I'd just like to point out a few benefits of staying fit;

Boosting productivity

I've learnt this from experience, putting and effort to keep your mind and body in check is the adrenaline you need for your everyday activities. If you have a body that functions at optimum capacity then of course you'll do well with your activities.

There's a tendency to live longer

Staying fit keeps your body as well as the important organs in it healthy. A fit body tends to fall sick less because the body is able to fight of any illness coming. A weak body will always be prone to illnesses. We've heard of people that look too young for their age because of the way they carry themselves. Keeping fit can help you reach that too.

A confidence boost

There's this certain level of confidence that comes with having a fit body, from the way to carry yourself to the way your speak. It tends to have that effect from you and I say that from experience. Keeping fit helps boost moral, you find yourself more confident in your daily activities.

There are a whole lot more reasons to staying fit but let's leave it at that for now. You can do your research and find out more reasons to stay fit, I know there are a lot.

My routine are very simple and you could follow them if you like;

Drink enough water

There are so much benefits of staying hydrated. I usually make sure I drink a cup of water everytime I wake up, my mom made this a habit. Water helps to regulate blood flow (don't ask me how, I'm not a doctor 😅). I notice when I drink water sometimes, I sweat. That's because water is like a cleaning agent to the body, it helps rid the body of little impurities. Make sure you drink enough water everyday.

Sneak in a push up or two

I don't go to the gym but there are some days I wake up energized, I do up to 50 pushups in the morning so my body doesn't become stiff. I don't do it everyday but I do it when I can. Even of you can't make it to the gym, 10 pushups a day isn't so hard and it becomes easier one you make it a habit.

Eat enough but not too much

We tend to get this mixed up sometimes, eating too much can cause stress on the body because it takes longer time to digest all that food. Eat when you're hungry but never overfeed, don't put your body through that stress of having to digest all that at once. We know what happens most times we overfeed, we tend to feel heavy and slow.

Depriving yourself of sleep is a no no

I know must of us are hustling and we hardly sleep but make sure your body gets enough sleep. When we don't sleep, our body can't function at full capacity. Speaking of sleep, I should be doing that now. Get enough sleep, as the popular saying goes, "body no be firewood".

Eat healthy

I know some of us and this is directed most to the Nigerian because I can relate, eat healthy. Some of us, it's eba in the morning, afternoon and night. It shouldn't be so, there's a reason we invented the balance diet. If the body only has carbohydrates to process, it won't function well.

These are my routines in form for instructions, I sneak in a push up or two when I can, I drink enough water and I don't over feed. Tell me your routines in the comment section and maybe I'll just add yours to mine.

See you at the next edition, thanks for stopping by.

Hehe... Staying fit does have it's merits. And it provides a sound mind and soul for us, that way we would find it easier to function.

You’ve done very well. A sound body, a sound mind. I also believe in this saying. And over the years, it has proven to be true.

Keeping fit is loaded with lots of heath benefits. You don’t need to go to the gym and carry heavy stuffs, you can exercise at home without any equipment.

Your routine is nice and simple.

Thanks for sharing.

Sapa no go gree person o...it's quite beautiful to see these routines you just outlined but it gets tiring when things feel like they're not in place. . there's no way I'll sleep soundly when I have bills to settle and theres no way I'll have a proper diet if there's no money to afford them..but not withstanding those are just excuses...anyone who wishes to stay fit will work towards it matter what...I'm just lazy 😂😂
