The COMedy Rumble: My life is a joke

I always wanted a new laptop for my birthday, my dad had promised that if I worked hard enough, he would pay me enough to buy the laptop or he'll probably get it himself. He's into constriction so I help with the buying of materials and I help keep records. It's a big job for me because I'm lazy so I find the easy things to do. Because of the laptop, I worked harder than ever, I used a black pen to keep records not a blue pen, pretty tough. I made sure all the material where carried by other people into their appropriate storing positions. I even helped with the yelling of workers who were lazy. I almost got beaten up sometime because of the yelling. These people were twice my size and I was yelling at them.

My birthday finally came and it was time to get my long awaited laptop. My dad offered to get it for me. Two hours later, he comes back with a t shirt. I kept on looking around to find the laptop he was supposed to get. He then pointed towards his legs and asked my what he was pointing to. I was wondering why he was pointing towards his laps. I asked him what was going on because I didn't seem to understand it.

He then pointed towards the shirt he brought in and asked me what was that was, I told him it was a t shirt and he said I was right but he wanted me to know that was a top. He then said if I combine his lap and the top together, I would get a laptop. He was obviously trying to be funny but I didn't get the joke. I ran to the car to search it, he probably hid it somewhere and was playing a prank on me. I didn't find anything. I went back into the house and he was still laughing.

Apparently the joke was too funny for him to handle but not funny enough for me to understand because where the heck was my laptop. I had worked hard for it. I made sure people carried material to the right places. I even used the black pen to highlight some places in the records I took which was a big deal for me because I just usually use a blue pen. Nobody said anything about laptop, everybody was just wishing me Happy Birthday.

Towards the end of the day I decided that I wasn't going to let something as beautiful as a laptop spoil the rest of the evening so I went out with all my savings and went to get a laptop for myself.

When I reached home, I realised that my dad had gotten the laptop already and he was hiding to give it to me that evening. There I was standing with the laptop I just bought and the other one my dad bought facing me, it was a disaster. I went from not having any to having two. Turns out the one he bought for me was a better version than the one I had gotten for myself. I dashed out quickly to return the one I just bought. I was lucky enough to catch them before they closed shop and after much explanation they agreed to take the laptop back. I was happy and I went back home knowing that I still had one laptop. I reach the house I had the shock of my life, my dad had had the same idea and gone to return laptop he bought. I went from having none to having two, to having none again, what kind of luck was this? I paused and thought for a minute and then I called my Dad telling him I had returned mine and he should not return his. He told me the laptop that he bought wasn't for me it was for his work I did not even know what to do. Who should I get angry at him or myself?

I just ate and went to bed. I woke up in the morning with a package by my bedside. I opened it and I saw a laptop with a note saying "if you yell at my workers again, you are fired. Enjoy your laptop". It turned to be a pretty good day.
