Mornings often pass in a blur of groggy snooze slaps until enough caffeine kicks in to motivate movement. And some days my alarm shrieking from the nightstand elicits nothing but sharp glares under the covers willing it to hush. But what if along with rousing reminders to rise also flowed out words of affirmation custom crafted just for me?

I smiled recently envisioning my alarm morphing to life with not just beeps but also a personality voicing encouragement. I pictured this clever clock observing I faithfully roll out of bed along with first alarms nearly all mornings without hitting dismiss endlessly. And it wanted praise to reflect my commitment to punctuality!
So in it's tinny digital voice, I heard words like "Treasure your dedication getting up to embrace this new day right on time is so admirable! I know it can't be easy warrior posing out of these cozy covers. But your discipline not snoozing makes mornings harmonious for everyone and sets such a positive tone!"
My animated alarm continues, "You work so hard staying true to your integrity and timeliness in all matters big and small! I'm proud starting your mornings with you consistently showing others through example what responsibility looks like even when no one's watching!" How uplifting to have my clock as an affable ally!
Wouldn't it be fun if household devices lauded our reliability and efforts noticed only by appliances? I for one welcome the occasional confidence boost my responsibility earns! Here's to punctually forging ahead this year with possibly some charming new friends fabricated behind screens applauding quietly all the while.

While in reality, alarms stay lifeless timetelling devices, an imagination that animates encouragement from the everyday has power to disarm stress when chips feel down. The world's unanimous praise may never arrive, but conjuring your very own unconventional cheer squad centered around consistency bolsters from within. They see you growing through mundane feats...now see your own worth too.

For real, we need more stuff in our lives hypeing us up when we're doing awesome instead of just noticeable when we slip up. Like, can we get some gold stars and high fives all around for adulting well?
My friendly alarm is a start, but shoot - I'd love my kitchen sink saying "Wow Treasure, thanks for washing this plate so well first, these would be rather funny!" Or my fridge being like "I really appreciate you organizing me so nicely last night, that soup is gonna last extra long now!"
Even just the front door lock chanting "You go girl!" when I remember my keys, Appliances need more personality, am I right?
