Hai-hui through the Inca city of Machu Picchu... Week 125 Weekend-Engagement

Hai-hui through the Inca city of Machu Picchu...

The problem is not that life is short, but that we waste so much of it. - Seneca

As always @galenkp's weekend-engagement links are amazing and I think they fit like a glove with many of our daily activities or different events happening in our lives, in this regard I can only say this ,, respect for what you do here in the community,,.

Just like the other weekends, this weekend I was right on target with one of the themes:

Weekend adventure
This weekend you can choose to do anything from the items listed below. What do you choose and why? Write at least 400 words and please use photos you took yourself if you can. (That doesn't mean the photos need to be of yourself though.)

• Hiking and an overnight stay, Machu Picchu, Peru

It all started a few months ago when I was looking for daily flights to Peru, here my patience was put to the test because from Romania (the country where I live) there are no direct flights, only flights with stopovers, and very long stopovers, even several days.

Even though I hadn't booked my flights yet, I was planning a holiday in the Inca city located in the Cusco region of Peru.

I finally managed to purchase my tickets for flights to Peru to visit one of the seven wonders of the world, Machu Picchu.

The flights went mostly smoothly, I made it through the one-day layover and arrived in Peru, eager to start discovering one of the seven wonders of the world.

Because of the flights and time zone changes I needed a lot of rest to regain my strength for the upcoming adventure.

Today I say good morning from Aguas Calientes the village where I had taken the accommodation through Airbnb, the time at which I left for the bus that will take me to Machu Picchu is six in the morning, because the ticket that I took here is by the hour, my entry time was between 9-10, do not forget to tell you that when I took the plane tickets I took including the entry ticket to Machu Picchu (I can say that it was an adventure to take these tickets, there are reservations made here for five months before).

On the way to the bus stop I look towards the mountains ahead and I see a dense fog, I'm a bit panicked, because if at Machu Picchu the fog is as dense I won't be able to see much, but now I have nothing else to do I have to continue my way, as I see the weather there seems to be a probability of getting caught in the rain, but it's not a problem because I have my cape with me.

I arrived at the bus stop, I still have some time to go, so if at the hotel I didn't get to eat something, I decided to have breakfast here.

The bus ride is spectacular, it meanders on some winding roads through the mountains hidden in dense fog, after a few minutes we reach the place where the access to the site is made, I can't believe I'm here, I already feel a load that seems to press me with an enormous weight.

Welcome to the most spectacular place in the world.

From here I can see in the distance the road we came here on, and I still don't think I'm here.

Let the hiking begin.

From the entrance gate I am greeted by stone stairs, a mysterious air, this feeling is also given to me by the fog that I can still see is not disappearing, however I am in an old city, with an impressive age, I must admit that the climb to the city is not an easy one, it demands my stamina to the maximum (I admit that I am not used to too much effort), but I do not give up and I continue my ascent.

A sign indicates that visiting the city can be done either from the bottom or by following a path to the top, I am still talking to myself, I chose to walk through the old Inca city from the top, after a hard climb to the top I finally reach the top, here my heart starts beating extremely fast when in the distance I see the ruins of the old Inca city, the feeling I can't describe in any way, I can't tell if time stops or not.

I forgot to tell you that I also have my tent that I do not leave when I go on hikes like this, when I entered here I asked if I am allowed to pitch my tent here somewhere, I was told in a louder tone that I am not allowed to stay with my tent in this place.

Despite this I had already found a place to pitch my tent for the night, in my mind I had a thousand ideas of how to fool the guards and be able to pitch my tent here at the top so I could see the sunrise right from the heart of one of the seven wonders of the world.

But until the part with the tent I start to enjoy this place, from the top I start the descent to the ruins of the city, after a few more tens of minutes I reach the walls of the old city and I can't believe how big it is, from the top it didn't seem to be so big, the walls from what I observe are made of stone blocks either bigger or smaller, but they are not made with the same precision for example as the pyramids in Egypt.

Hiking through this place leaves me speechless especially when I manage to get to the best places where I can see the whole city, I can't figure out how these people managed to bring these stones here.

The time allotted for the visit was over so normally I would have had to leave the place and go back to where I had come from this morning, strangely within minutes the whole town was again submerged in a fog where you couldn't see a metre ahead, this was also the moment when I took advantage of the fact that I couldn't be seen and climbed back to the top, once there I waited for closing time to come so I could pitch my tent.

When evening came, I finished setting up the tent and my next move was to go to bed, as today's hike had taken a lot out of me.

The night passed pretty quickly, that's considering the cold outside and that I wasn't prepared for a lower temperature, but I forgot all about it when the sun made its presence felt among the mountain tops, a dreamy sight that I can't shake off.

After making it back into town, hungry as a wolf, I headed to a restaurant to grab a bite to eat and a pisco, a local drink, lol.

My dears this was the hike and night spent just above the ancient Inca city, Machu Picchu in Peru, as a conclusion I advise you to respect the rules of the places you visit and don't do as I did, lol, maybe some places and facts can be identified with reality, I like fiction very much, so take it as such.

If you liked what you saw and read here please don't forget to give a LiKe, Follow, reBlog or a Comment, for all this I thank you, and until the next post I say goodbye.

P.S. The attached pictures you have just seen are taken by me with my mobile phone, and the text is also designed by me.

Yours @triplug!

Oh my! This was such a good adventure and the experience you had when you travel going to Peru. Truly, the seven wonders of the world are fascinating enough to behold in their beauties. Are you alone when you travel back then or you were with someone else? I would love to travel if only I have enough money to do so. !PIZZA
