Lucky Mill, a tale of love, betrayal and death this weekend
Hello everyone,
Betrayal is the church of hell.
Victor Hugo
How did you spend the weekend just past?
For some time we had been meaning to visit a restaurant in our county, Moara cu Noroc(Lucky Mill).
First of all, I would like to tell you some historical facts about this inn, these moments starting with its construction, followed by the whole story of the inn, which were later contained in a book written by a very famous Roman writer more than 185 years ago.
The action takes place somewhere in the 19th century, when Ghiță (a somewhat more refined Romanian peasant), at the insistence of his mother-in-law, is looking to buy an inn near Ineu (a town in Arad county), so they end up buying the Moara cu Noroc(Lucky Mill).
The business with this inn was going very well and Lica Samadaul, an animal breeder from that area, makes his presence felt in the frame, the whole story takes an unexpected turn when Lica Samadaul starts to like Ghita's wife, the owner of the Mill, blinded by jealousy Ghita kills his wife after which Lica Samadaul kills Ghita, the chain of events is investigated by the lawmen of that time, when Lica Samadaul realizes that he will be caught and will be judged for what he has done, he sets fire to the Lucky Mill and kills himself.
A story with an unhappy ending, a story with a strong emotional impact from which, perhaps, we can draw some conclusions or learn something.
The Inn of the Lucky Mill was born in 2012 being strategically located quite close to important points of interest such as the Fortress of Syria, Poiana cu Narcise(meadow of daffodils), Moneasa Resort and other objectives, it was born from the love of some people for bringing back to life the ruin of the former Lucky Mill, the mill has worked very hard for about seven years but from what one of the administrators tells us it would take another seven years to complete it.
We left home around 4 pm in order to arrive on time at the time set in the reservation made the day before and to be there when our friends who had not been there before arrived.
Today we will go together to discover the gardens filled with hundreds of red roses and I will show you some traditional dishes as only here you can find in this area, besides what I will show you, Moara cu Noroc(Lucky Mill) also has about 40 places of accommodation (classification ***), a playground for children, a Gothic hall where you can hold various events with a capacity of up to 800 seats.
For our starter we ordered belly soup a very surreal dish, for our main course we chose to eat special dishes on a platter for 2-4 people, and for dessert we chose my favourite papanasi (I think I'll show pictures of papanasi a few times by now, pictures taken in different locations, papanasi are my guilty pleasure).
This is what the menu of the Lucky Mill restaurant looks like.
Here we had bean soup with smoked meat in bread, a traditional Romanian dish.
Papanasi my guilty pleasure.
All are traditionally decorated.
We had the best lemonade here.
With such a hearty meal, a dry red or white wine would have been nice, unfortunately I settled for a lemonade and soda because I was driving.
In conclusion the location is an exceptional one preserving very old decorative objects, here we found a very varied menu from simple dishes to extravagant dishes from both Romanian and international cuisine, the food was very good and the price of the dishes is one depending on what you choose to serve generally a slightly higher price (and the location is amazing).
Dear friends, this is the location and the story of the place where for a few hours we managed to relax, socialize and forget the daily stress in the company of friends.
If you liked what you saw and read here please don't forget to give a LiKe, Follow, reBlog or a Comment, for all this I thank you, and until the next post I say goodbye.
P.S. The attached pictures you have just seen are taken by me with my mobile phone, and the text is also designed by me.
Yours @triplug!
