Pater Noster, the unique elevator in the world in Prague City Hall
If we are still in Prague, I decided to share with you one of the most unique elevators in the world, honestly I have never seen anything like it before.
This elevator without doors is called Pater Noster and you can find it in the premises of the town hall in Prague, it is probably unique in the world, it has a mechanism that moves it without stopping, yes you read that right, it never stops.
Exactly on the day when I visited this place, the National Day was celebrated in Romania, so I brought the national flag with me, so that I could also celebrate the national day here in front of the town hall.
I read something about it before arriving here, but I couldn't resist and wanted to experience the sensation of getting into an elevator that never stops or even slows down.
It is good to know that this objective is not recommended for people with disabilities, unfortunately.
The elevator was of course designed to help people to go up to the upper levels of the town hall, it is very old, despite the fact that it is very old, it still works today.
When I arrived in front of the town hall, I had a few emotions, I didn't know how the visit to a Prague institution would go, even from the entrance I noticed a sign with the much-awaited PATERNOSTER, ready, I followed the directions and arrived at a very long corridor and at the end of it I turned left and surprise, I was already in front of the elevator without doors.
In front of us there were some tourists who were having a great time there, using the elevator, the surprise was when on one of the side walls we saw a poster in which it was mentioned that it is forbidden to use the elevator, but the other tourists did not take this into account .
I waited for everyone to take the elevator, after which I entered an office and asked if I could use the elevator, telling him that I had seen the poster.
There I met a very nice gentleman who told me that I could use it, so I immediately jumped in the elevator to experience the sensation of using this unique type of elevator in the world.
Honestly, from the first round I didn't even realize how many floors I climbed, he was moving continuously, I had as a reference the floor I went up to (it was the only one with light), by the way there is no light in the elevator, so if if you have any phobia regarding this, I do not recommend you to go up in the elevator.
My dear followers and visitors, this was my experience in the town hall in Prague, if you happen to visit this wonderful city, don't forget PATERNOSTER, it's worth it.

This elevator is unique, but to use it we have to take a risk, as I wrote it is not recommended for people with disabilities and those who suffer from phobia of narrow space and no light, otherwise the experience is unique.

Thank you!
There are two more such elevators in my city of Katowice, Poland. I rode them when I was little, it was a lot of fun 😊.
I don't know if they are as old as this but yes I didn't know there were others in Europe.
I just wanted to write to you that I used to ride such an elevator too 🙂
I am glad to learn such information, maybe if I get to Poland I will actually visit this place, if tourists are allowed.
👍
Hmm, that might make a good coffee table book:
