The amazing Petrin Tower (Petrinska Rozhledna) in Prague, Czech Republic
Hello travellers around the world
For some time we have been planning to visit the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, but not at any time of the year but during the winter holidays, here we wanted very much to visit the main attractions of Prague but especially the Christmas market here, we had read many good reviews about this place.
After a rather long period of pandemic, it's time for dreams to come true, so together with our friends we have put together a mini holiday in the Czech capital, with many places to visit, today we will stop at one of them, namely Petrin Tower, almost identical copy of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, of course between the two are differences in height (Petrin Tower having a height of 63m) and the base of the tower, it was built in 1891 on the hill of the same name, Petrin.
I have never been to Prague before, but now after seeing most of the sights I can say that it is gorgeous, for me it is in the top 5 cities in Europe.
But let's see how we got here?
To get to the tower you have several possibilities, the most convenient would be the uber/taxi (which here are quite expensive), a second option would be the metro combined with the tram (number 22), the latter will take you quite close to the location of the tower, and the last option is the one we chose is the bus (I can say it's a minibus) from our location we took the bus number 194 to the last stop, Nemocnice Pod Petrinem (I hope I wrote it correctly).
For those who choose the metro and tram to get here it is good to know that not very far from the tram station there is a funicular that goes all the way up (you won't have to work too hard to get to the top).
Of course if we took the bus to the last stop we didn't take the funicular but from the bus stop we walked to the hill.
Here I have to admit that for me this climb was quite hard (for a person who sits a lot on a chair at a desk and doesn't move much), we had to climb quite a few stairs, but with a few breaks we managed to reach the tower.
We overcame the feeling of tiredness when we saw at one point through the branches of the trees how this building rises to the sky, yes, we arrived here quite late and it started to get dark, how beautifully lit this tower can be.
Once we got to the tower we went inside where we bought the tickets from the ticket office which cost us 150kc/6euro/person.
Oopss, our next question was how to get up the tower, the very nice lady at the cashier told us that the only existing lift was broken and our second option was to walk up the 290 stairs, we had already paid for our tickets, what were we going to do, we started by taking a break and then slowly walked up the stairs.
The ascent of these stairs is done in a spiral, in some moments of the climb I had the feeling of dizziness, very important if you come here to be careful on the way up and down, there are indications on where to go up and where to go down, respect, the stairs are quite narrow and crossing with other people can be uncomfortable.
If somehow you have the same physical condition as mine well during the climb you have a place where you can rest, that's what I did whenever I met these places.
Resting places are only on the way up, they do not exist on the way down.
You can stop to admire the view even somewhere in the middle of the tower, but in my opinion it is not worth stopping here, instead when you get to the top here you will have a surprise, the view is amazing, it was quite crowded here tonight so we hardly got a window open to take some pictures, Prague is spectacular.
We spent about half an hour here fighting with the other tourists to take good pictures, we didn't stay longer and because of the draught and when we came down we had the feeling that the wind was moving the tower a bit, but in the end everything was fine.
Down at the base of the tower there is a café where you can even have a cake, in conclusion, Petrin Tower deserves to be put on the short list of Prague sights.
We left this place and headed to the bus stop, after checking the bus schedule we saw that ours was leaving in 8 minutes, who is like us, we ran to the bus stop which was not so close, we arrived a minute before the bus left, yup we didn't miss it and this was the last one of the evening.
After such a move we got so hungry we thought we were dying, our friends quickly looked for a restaurant and we found an excellent one, U Kroka, since I wanted to drink a Hungarian beer and eat something good here.
First I ordered a smoked garlic soup with toast croquettes and for the main course I ordered chicken schnitzel with mashed potatoes and pickled cucumbers, I haven't had such good food in a long time.
My dear friends, this was our tour of the Petrin Tower in Prague, Czech Republic.

The ceiling lights are awesome and stunning!
What beautiful photographs. There is one of them that looks like it would be a good idea to ride a bike. Well, not such an idea if you then have no brakes hahaha.
I like that country, it has very striking places that denote a lot of beauty. Impeccable picture taking, simply a visual delight.
Thank you very much for your comment and I'm glad you liked the attached pictures.
If you use your bike around here and run out of brakes I think it's a problem, hehe.
