The Covered Stairway(Scara Acoperită) from Sighișoara(Romania), the one that has stood since 1642
Hello everyone
Today we chose to stay in Sighisora, if you have visited my blogs you could see that in my last post I introduced you to the Clock Tower, so today I want to share with you another amazing tourist attraction, yes today we will visit the Covered Stairway.
In the last post I wrote about the house where Vlad Dracul was supposedly born but I forgot to attach some photos so today I will start with that, before we get to the narrow streets up to the Covered Stairway I want to share some photos of this house, if somehow you visit this place you will find here also a restaurant and a museum that you can visit, we didn't do it because at the end of the visit to this museum you will be scared by a person disguised as a vampire, we knew this trick and we didn't dare this experience.
Back to the main topic, from what I have seen all tourists know about this place, I mean Covered Stairway.
Also at the hotel we had a pleasant surprise, the gentleman at the reception heard us that we were planning to visit the Covered Stairway and started chatting with us and started telling us information about this stairway, moreover he told us that he himself had climbed these stairs many times on his way to school, these stairs are also called the schoolchildren stairway.
If you climb these stairs, they lead up to the "Josef Haltrich" High School (School on the Hill) and the Church on the Hill, in the following we will also climb these stairs to experience being here, as the stairs were built in 1642.
At first glance we have the impression that there are a lot of stairs to climb but it is not really so, here we find 176 stairs arranged in 6 staircases followed by a flatter part, from what I read it seems that these stairs are arranged as days of the week.
The Covered Stairway as we saw it now looks very good considering its age, well being built of wood you realize that the passage of time has left its marks on it.
After all, what is the role of this ladder?
The main role of the stairs used to be to protect children from wind, rain or snow as they walked to school or church, and now we try to experience the same emotions by climbing them.

More information about the Covered Stairway can be found here.
THE END
If you liked what you saw and read here please don't forget to give a LiKe, Follow, reBlog or a Comment, for all this I thank you, and until the next post I say goodbye.
P.S. The attached pictures you have just seen are taken by me with my mobile phone in Sighișoara(Romania), and the text is also designed by me.
