As they say, nothing lasts forever. As I prepare to return back to school, I just want to summarize how my holiday went. All through my 20 something years on Earth Nigeria, this is the first time that I was actually comfortable going out all thanks to hive.

My holiday started earlier than others because I was kinda fed up with school and wanted a break since I've been there since January so I decided to leave 2 weeks before the usual break. Although I planned for some outings there were some that were impromptu and I was so confident thanks to hive. All together, I went out like 5 times this holiday.

Well, my outings started immediately after Christmas on Sunday after service as I treated my choir members to a treat for a wonderful year experience. The experience was amazing as I saw them enjoying themselves. Even though some weren't around, the few had a bit of fun the little way we tried to our appreciation.

Hive meetup with bosses from the community

That was what opened the streak to an amazing holiday.
The second was a hive meetup with @k-banti, @starstrings01, and @josediccus. This meetup was quite funny because due to some mixup in communications, the venue for the meetup was quite mixed up. I was called by starstrings that the venue was already fixed and was asking if I could meet up. Since my coming to Lagos was major because of the meetup, I had to cancel all plans because this was the peak since my comeback from hive and I was going to meet the famous @josediccus. The miscommunicated venue was oniru private beach. I was the first to get there since I stayed close by and was kinda familiar with the environment since I've worked there during my IT so I had to wait outside. But on waiting outside I decided to find a place to sit and the only places available was where some guys were smoking what the heck, I sat there and one approached me that he sells loud, molly and the rest the only thing that I could then was "No, I'm good" it was funny though. After waiting for some time, we decided to go to the beach since the outside wasn't nice. So we bought tickets for #1000 and headed inside as we waited for the rest. On getting, we saw that it was quite empty asin not much fun there and kind of concluded that the excitement would be at night.

As we waited for the rest to meet up, we decided to sit and get bottled water because the weather was hot. After they brought the water to us, as we brought out the money to pay the lady said it was #500 for each. We immediately had this shock on our faces as it was surprising. Restaurants charge #200 or #250 but this is extortion. A freaking 400% profit was too much even for me but what else could we have done. After spending like 5 mins waiting, some ladies then came to meet up that if we have to stay here, we would have to pay for the table when we asked how much, I thought she said something else because I couldn't bring myself to accept the price had to confirm from Jose when he then told me it was #20,000.

Then what we could reason was that if just bottled water was #500 and the rent for a table is #20000, how much would cover our feeding? As we were thinking out loud, we then got a call from kay that he is around. Stopping him from coming in, we went out after confirming that we could still enter with the same tickets (to avoid stories that touch).

After all the pleasantries believe me it took some time because it was like kay was on a mission to kill people's daughters, we then had to pick a different location as time was fast spent and that beach was a no-go area.

We relocated back to the mainland where we finally had the meetup popo had gotten there before us since he was not close to the beach yet.

The meet-up was dope food, drinks, gists, advice, etc. Since I'm kind of the newest to the community, I was lost when they started mentioning names of some members. @jose shared his recent story of how he had being get some downvotes due to some misconceptions in the community and I got some tips on how to make my stay on hive pleasurable.

Thanks to @josediccus for coming out your way to see us. All the way from Sango his ride was #5000 to and fro (#10,000).

After he left since @starstrings01 and @k-banti had another meetup the next day, they wanted to lodge but it was still early for that so we went to a lounge and decided to chill there for some time. At around 7 pm or so, we all left and retired for the day.

Outing with Mum and Bro.

The next outing was with my mum and bro. when bro and I decided to take her to the movies and treat her to ice cream. It was actually a wonderful experience the smile on her face was priceless. As a single mother raising four kids through sec school to higher institutions, she deserves everything that comes her way right now. So mum, expect more of this.

We saw the 6 pm movie Matrix movie at Ozone Cinemas Sabo.

It was her first time at the movies. Even though as we were about to get our popcorn and drinks for the movies the lady there was trying to be rude after my mum requested for a change of drinks. We were ready to bounce on her if not that the manager there saw the situation on time and attended to us. That lady would have lost her job that day or been quarried. The movie was for about 2 hrs 30 mins so we finished by around 8:30. Atleast I started my year with a blessing from my mum.

Last Outing To Tarkwa Bay

This outing was not really planned well since from the on set, I didn't have the intention to go but was convinced and going there would be more expenses so I just had to reach into my money I pulled from hive a while ago to fund this outing.

So we got there and it was actually fun. Met new people, saw someone that almost drowned, flirted a bit, went into the water haven't done that in a while, the last time I did was when I was little and we went visiting my Grandma in Kogi state.

So guys there you have it. My End and beginning of the year experience all thanks to hive. Because if not for the money gotten from hive, this wouldn't have been possible. I will talk more about my experience at the bay in my next post. Anticipate lolz
