1997 Let's visit the Museum - Village Safranbolu Yoruk town, which is under protection by the Ministry of Culture! We arrived in the town after a 20-minute drive from the center of Safranbolu. As soon as we entered the town, I felt like I was time traveling through history. Everything was as original as it was. When you look at the town from a distance, you feel like you are looking at a postcard. The town was calm and quiet because it was winter. Of course, there were many tourist groups coming with tours but it was quieter than in summer. I had heard that it was very crowded in the summer and even walking was difficult. Fortunately, we were lucky and we could walk around very easily. Almost all of the local people living in the town were old people, but there were also people from the younger generation. They were all sincere and friendly and welcomed us very well. The streets were very authentic and we took lots of photos. Everything was so beautiful and I wanted to photograph everything!

While we were walking around the town, we met an old lady who had turned her childhood home into a museum for tourists and was accepting visitors for a small fee. The entrance fee is about 1 hive coin! We decided to visit both because the old aunt was making money and because we were very curious about the house. We wore our gashoshos at the entrance of the house. When we entered the house, we were greeted by a large Turkish flag and photos of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. (I liked this place the most!) There were photos of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk all over the house and this is what impressed me the most. As a woman, I admire Mustafa Kemal Atatürk... I admire him with gratitude and great love! I take firm steps in his path and follow his example. When I am so attached to him with so much love and respect, when I see people who love him as much as I do, I immediately connect with him. Atatürk is a world leader who is respected and loved around the world! We women owe him so much!

Since the house was both a museum and a living space, they reserved the bedroom and the living room for themselves. They met their heating needs with a stove and even cooked their meals on the stove in one of the rooms! It was amazing! We admired each room of the house separately! There were many items from the old history. There were chocolates and cologne on the table to offer to the visitors, and of course the aunt offered us some too.

In one of the rooms, there were ethnic Yoruk dresses belonging to the great-grandmother of the old lady who owned this place. They are very well preserved! I had so much fun walking around the house. There were so many details that I didn't know where to look. Old coins, telephones, television, it was as if I was traveling back in time. What surprised me the most was the bathrooms in the room! I don't know if it can be called a bathroom, but there was a wooden cupboard on the wall, and when I opened the door, I learned that it was a bathing area. You could take a bath in the wood, and the water flowed down to the street. Very interesting! I heard this for the first time.

Coming here was a different experience for me. The people who live here suggested that I should come and visit in summer, they said that there are more lively activities in summer. I hope I will have the chance to visit again in the summer season, it was really one of the places I would like to come and see again. My recommendation for those who love this kind of authentic towns! You should definitely come and see it!
