Don't miss this masterpiece!
Watched the "All Quiet on the Western Front" that recently became available on Netflix this morning on my day job.
This is a 2022 German war film based on a novel by the same name (German: Im Westen nichts Neues) by Erich Maria Remarque that was apparently a big hit when it came in 1929. Never heard of the novel or the author before but the trailer had good vibes and since I enjoy war films I figured I would enjoy it.

Of course, since this was available on Netflix I didn't expect much....
And boy oh boy was I wrong! It was a fucking masterpiece! Definitely the greatest antiwar war film I have ever seen.
The casting and acting is perfect. The visuals and special effects are perfect. The action is perfect. The realism and brutality of war couldn't have been captured any better. And usually these kinds of films revolve around world war 2, so watching one about WW I was a nice bonus as well.
The only complain I can think of is that I would prefer some more character building in the introductory part. But that's just me, and character development isn't the main goal of the film anyways.
American viewers may have problems watching this because I hear they can't follow anything with subtitles, so keep that in mind too if you are one of those retards.
So yeah. One of the few perfect options on Netflix. Although not for the faint of heart! An easy 9/10, go watch it if you haven't!

This is a great movie for all the People that like wars movies... I like the ones that are based in real life... I will watch this tonight!
The Last War Movie I watched was "Fury" and from trailer of this one and Obv your analysis it looks like a masterpiece.

I've been waiting for this one and watching it the night it came out. Wasn't disappointed at all and was honestly one of the best films netflix has released in a while. Shows you the real grit and nasty of war and how pointless it all really is. Something more people need to see and truly understand.

We re-activated Netflix 2 days back. I seen your Dahmer recommendation pop right up, think I'll give that a whirl. Not so sure about war films. I've seen both of the English versions of 'All Quiet on the Western Front' - neither left me wanting more. Not sure I could do a third by the same name.
I started watching this and stopped just 1 minute it when I saw it was German and dubbed in English. I might have been wrong
Netflix has an audio option I believe... It was German by default on me
I have been waiting for the release and I need to watch this movie right immediately. I won't be let down by the movie after watching this brief clip, which I just viewed.
This movie will probably receive an award nomination because the filmmakers and actors are skilled.

looks like a movie about Verdun.
The ground around Verdun is still full of iron. You can find it there with your hands and no tools old bomb splitters and ammunition.
It's worth a trip, in combination with the old bunkers is really not bad.

Not sure you are a fan of the Star Wars series and beyond, I recommend to watch also Andor, a Lucas Films TV series.
I watched it recently, I though it was just as good as the 1979 Richard Thomas version of the story .
I am a fan of war movies, I really like when they are also based on real events, although almost all of them are, and in the same way I am with war video games, nothing more exciting than that.
