Woot woot, look at this package that was waiting at my day job this morning:

Let's open it up πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Oh yeah baby! Fresh silver for the stack! πŸ€‘πŸ€‘πŸ€‘πŸ€‘

As always, the plan is to eventually cover all the pieces in full extent...but..but! There's already a big back log of pieces I want to show off. And the more silver I order the bigger it becomes so it will take a while!

I guess for now a quick peek will suffice!

First, we have this commemorative medal from east Germany. A great gift for any communist out there πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Seller didn't know much about it and he sold it for "only" 10$. I say "only" cause I have no idea if it's a bargain or not. I can't find much info about it online and even numista isn't of much help. All it says is that it's made of silver. No purity, no mintage, no nothing!!!!

If you can help me find more info about it I would highly appreciate it!

Anyways, on to the next piece which is...

A Canadian 50 cents from 1965. I already have a couple of those, but more won't harm! This piece has a really good purity of 0.800 and weights 11.6638 g.

I have told you a couple times how I love animal themed coins and the next one is exactly that!

A 1946 six pence from New Zealand with a Huia on the reverse

The huia is an extinct species of New Zealand wattlebird, endemic to the North Island of New Zealand. The last confirmed sighting of a huia was in 1907, although there was a credible sighting in 1924. source

This is a really small piece so not much silver. Just 2.83 g of 0.500 purity πŸ˜…

Speaking of small, next one is about the same size...

A 1/2 Swiss franc minted in 1964. Just 2.5 g of 0.835 purity.

And finally we have...

A 1966 gulden from Netherlands. This piece weights 6.5 g of and is made of 0.720 silver.

And that concludes today's mail call frens! Till the next one....

Stack on!

Which as I say in my post, has pretty much no info, like purity etc etc. Dummy

wtf is that silver... Silver plated? 1% 100% silver 🀣 your best bet is going to a place with an xrf analyzer, you can try to do an Archimedes principal test but it's just going to give you the density it could help in determining the composition but it may still be challenging to get conclusive results

Nice coin. It sucks to see an animal go extinct but at least they are documented into history on that coin.
