I was just checking my emails and I got one from westminsterinternationalshop.com informing me that the Royal Mint of UK has prepared the designs for the first UK coins to feature a portrait of... His Majesty King Charles III on the coin obverse. Lol.. His majesty 😂 Sounds so wrong.
Anyways, that was fast, not even a month since the undead Queen died 😂
To be fair, they don't look that bad!
I am not much of a Charles fan and the price for the silver pieces is imo ridiculous...
Still, if you are interested they are available for preorder.. If you are in a hurry though you will have to wait while:
The Royal Mint has advised us that this item will be ready to despatch in February 2023

The Royal Mint got the first nod to Chuck's noggin as I expected, every mint would have required permission anyways in order to acquire the official likeness.
I'll wait like the rest of the Stacking plebs for the regular BU 2023 Britannias and Maple leafs.

Got to be honest though, lots of laughs coming in some of the Australian FB groups that sell coins. Someone posted a 20 cent piece the other day with photoshopped ears coming out of it - announced as new portrait. I got a good belly laugh from it.
