The Dahmer Monster... So far so good
It's been a few days since "Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" appeared on Netflix and I finally got the time to watch a couple episodes.
This flick combines two of my favorite genres. Crime and based on real life events. So far I have seen three out the total ten episodes and I am really loving what they have done so far.
The cinematography is perfect and Evan Peters nails the role of the weirdo psychopath.
As the name of the series suggests, it follows the story of Jeffrey Dahmer. In case you are like me and you have never heard of this nice fella here's some quick info on him from Wikipedia:
Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer (/ˈdɑːmər/; May 21, 1960 – November 28, 1994), also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal or the Milwaukee Monster, was an American serial killer and sex offender who committed the murder and dismemberment of seventeen men and boys between 1978 and 1991. Many of his later murders involved necrophilia, cannibalism, and the permanent preservation of body parts—typically all or part of the skeleton.
Although he was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder,schizotypal personality disorder,and a psychotic disorder, Dahmer was found to be legally sane at his trial. He was convicted of fifteen of the sixteen murders he had committed in Wisconsin and was sentenced to fifteen terms of life imprisonment on February 17, 1992. On November 28, 1994, Dahmer was beaten to death by Christopher Scarver, a fellow inmate at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin. source and more info

I don't have an opinion yet on the series as a whole, but if the rest of the episodes are even half as good I will be a happy man. For now, it looks like it's one of those rare gems in the endless sea of poop Netflix is known for.

I think it is the first real based murderer character that this director uses , lets see how it goes

Gosh; it sounds like an interesting story. I've heard the name Jeffrey Dahmer thrown around a lot, but didn't know much about him other than his tendency to kill. Sounds a whole lot more graphic!
I love a good true crime myself, did you ever see Mindhunters on netflix? Is an FBI serial killer interview thing; gee it was good. The only problem was the bastards didn't make season 3.

We just did a series called 'White Lotus' - it won some Emmy awards, so there ya go, must be alright - and it was - it was rather watchable, except for like 5 seconds where some guy's ball sack made an extended appearance. But otherwise, was set in a resort - and was rather funny. Perhaps not funny, but different from a lot of the same-same shit on the tele. Anyways, might be worth a whirl.
I have enjoyed what I have seen so far, but it's hard for me to see Evan Peters as anything but his roles in AHS. Though that may be just because my gf and I have been marathoning all the seasons over the last several months....
It's been years since I last saw ahs. I mostly associate him with that X-Men role he had 😂
