Discovery of Splinterlands

I discovered Splinterlands (Steemmonsters at the time) pretty much on the first day the website was launched. I was just in my very early days of beginning to make posts on Steemit platform and I was very interested in the ideas of earning cryptocurrencies from blog posts and even more by the opportunity to earn through gaming, so when I found Splinterlands I was super excited for the gameplay to launch.

I followed updates from the game on steemit and I got into opening packs and trading cards instantly.

Overall I'd say I'm a very old veteran of Splinterlands.
I have the earliest possible "Battling since . . . " you can get on your ingame profile.

Time spent in Splinterlands

My current routine is to try to play as much Splinterlands as I can everyday, at my current situation in life I don't have time to do over 50 battles each day so I never really reach 0 energy left, but I try my best to just never let my energy idle at 50, because that just feels like a waste.

I also check Maverick discord channel daily and add my opinions there if I have something slightly valuable to say.

Accomplishments

I don't feel like I've accomplished anything special in particular in Splinterlands, I think my whole 6 year journey has been a huge accomplishment in of itself. To stick around one game and feel myself at home in this one community is pretty cool in of itself.

But some of the most notable things I have managed in Splinterlands are:

• 33,000 battles played
• I pulled all 3 of the super rare legendaries from Mystery potions
• I earned Maverick Status very early on
• I'm part of a guild called Team Possible (Currently playing in Team Possible Hackers guild)
• At very early stages of the game I had the longest streak of days in a row played
• I got over 6000 Champion points
• I have cards from EVERY possible edition in my collection

Upcoming goals

I don't have too many specific goals at the moment, I'm more just going with the flow right now, but some things I would like to reach would be:

• 50,000 SPS Staked
• 100% Completion of Soulbound cards (Gladiatior + Rewards)
• Get Rebellion airdrop cards (from conflicts)

Advice for beginners

It's so hard for me to imagine being a beginner right now in Splinterlands as I've been here for literally over 25% of my whole life.

But from my current perspective, these are the 3 things I would advise for new people

• Find a guild
  This is really important for your earning potential as you get SPS and Gladius cards from participating in Guild Brawls as well as some extra benefits and discounts in Ranked and in the Shop.
  Also this is a huge social aspect of the game and a way to make yourself some Splinterlands friends. I have only seen wholesome and friendly communities in Splinterlands and other people is the best source of information and help that you will need

• Join the discord server
  Splinterlands discord server is also a great source of information and help that you will need. Almost any question will be answered very quickly when you ask it in Tavern.
  Also it's the fastest way to find out about updates to the game.

• Focus on the game rather than the monetary aspect
  Try to find enjoyment in the game, there are multiple different ways to play Splinterlands (Ranked, Tournaments, Brawls, Rent cards, 3rd party games, etc.)
