Painting a Cactus on a T-shirt

I skipped a lot of steps, but this is the first come back and I'll make more post about painting on clothes later.

My process was:

Draw in a paper the basic lines, I suck at drawing but I'm decent at painting, so I just did the outlines and transfer them with color pencils, then I started for the highlights, then the shades, and finally the middle tones. This was the base, usually, you will want to do this all with white and then paint the colors on it, but I was too excited to start that I went right with the colors.

Dibujar en un papel las líneas básicas, soy pésima dibujando pero soy decente pintando, así que solo hice los contornos y los transferí con lápices de colores, luego empecé por las luces, luego las sombras y finalmente los tonos medios. Esta fue la base, por lo general, lo ideal sería hacer todo esto con el blanco y luego pintar los colores en él, pero yo estaba demasiado emocionada por empezar que fui directo con los colores.

After the foundation, I did the tones, shades, with red, yellow, blue, using just colors to create the contrasts, no black there.

With the base all done, I marked the spots for the spines, with a dirty white. Then I drew the spines with blue, the ones pointing up with blue and the ones around with red, and started painting them, this time I used black for the tips, but a dirty black, not a pure black; I'm following the rules I learned in class and I like them.

Let dry and retouch everything. Iron it and all done, ready to wear and you can wash it as you please, you should do it by hand but I have a 9 years old T-shirt I have always washed in the washing machine and it's just fine, it's all in using good paints.

Después de la base, hice los tonos, las sombras, con rojo, amarillo, azul, usando solo colores para crear los contrastes, nada de negro ahí.

Con la base hecha, marqué los puntos para las espinas, con un blanco sucio. Luego dibujé las espinas con azul, las que apuntan hacia arriba con azul y las de alrededor con rojo, y comencé a pintarlas, esta vez usé negro para las puntas, pero un negro sucio, no un negro puro; estoy siguiendo las reglas que aprendí en clase y me gustan.

Dejar secar y retocar todo. Plancharlo y ya está, listo para usar y puedes lavarlo como quieras, deberías hacerlo a mano pero yo tengo una camiseta de hace 9 años que siempre he lavado en la lavadora y está muy bien, todo está en usar buenas pinturas.
