Variegated banana trees in my friend's garden
Banana, a famous kind of fruit that is indispensable to supply nutrients to our body. In the world, there are hundreds of banana species including the common one often sell in the supermarket and the unknown kinds.

Today, on occasion visiting my friend’s garden, I have a great opportunity to observe and get a new kind of banana that they often call by the name variegrated banana.
What is this banana?
According to my friend’s words, variegated banana is one of genetic mutation caused by pigmentation loss. He often calls it banana var lol. At first time, I did not understand what var is, then he explained and I just got him.
He also said that variegated banana is an unique one and has the special striping in the leaves and even its fruits with the saturation level from light to strong color. Because of the genetic mutation, it is quite hard to grow and take care of it as well as other common one. He has bought over 20 saplings and its bulbs by online delievery and tried to plant it in the garden as the trial.
How did my friend grow it?
He shared what he has gone through during the time planting this banana with a lot of passion even the result is not totally 100 percent of success.
First of all, he digs the soil and created a large space for sapling. He will put the the young banana tree into the hole after 2 3 days of drying soil under the sun and powdered lime to sterilize.
After that, he use to plastic disposable cup to cover the banana’s bud or the top of tree in order to restrict the drainage problem. One of the thing he needs to care is about the humidity, light and shade. The variegated one needs plenty of sunlight, shade mixed with well drainage soil, too much water in the soil may caused waterlogged situation.
To let the sapling growing naturally, he supplies some organic fertilizers and add nutrients for tree. Keep observing while doing this, there are over 3 saplings have been died on the total of 20.
Further more, he holds the soil of each banana by a specialized plastic material against the erosion.
He started growing last year when the outbreak of pandemic was on the top in my country, it is not enough time for banana to give the fruit.
He also said though it is a kind of genetic mutation, the fruit is so fucking delicious and suit for both raw and cooked uses.
Variegated banana also becomes an ornamental plant for inside house or indoor space, it can be a good choice for one who looks for and wants to décor their home.
About me, I do not think about having one in my room cause the cost of each one is quite expensive for me. I would rather pick up some flowers than growing this one lol.

This is a type of ornamental banana. in Indonesia the price of banana trees like this is very expensive. So far, I only know about the banana tree. I don't know the shape and color of this ornamental banana. it turns out that the bananas also have the same white pattern as on the leaves. beautiful fruit very dear to eat.
