Being both a gardener and livestock farmer is one of the thing I love and enjoy most since it's already becoming part of me. Though there are surely some challenges sometimes as I have to face the consequences alone and moreso gardening work can sometimes be stressful especially during this dry season period.

Maintaining the standard normal state of the crops or veggies is not an easy task especially if you're residing in a more dry environment and also your garden is situated over there as well.

One of the challenges I faced about maintaining the normal state of my pepper's garden is the water supply. As we are currently in dry season period, the soil has been hard and makes things tough for the crops and veggies to survive in this kind of situation. The only thing one can do is to make them survive through proper irrigation and adopting water sprinkling process. At first, I was able to maintain my pepper's garden when I started sprinkling water on them twice a day, but things got tough for as time goes on due to the issue of water drought that usually happens in my area. Since the water level in the well that we get in the compound has gone down, the only thing left is to be disciplined towards the use of water and all I do is to use the water for some house choirs, bathing and so on. I only sprinkle water on them sometimes but they really look scanty and unhealthy as some of them has even burnt out and withered away.

I sow jute mallow seeds some days ago and it has already started coming out. I have to maintain water sprinkling on it and I was able to do because it's just a small bedding I created at the backyard.

The reason why I sow jute mallow seeds is due to its high cost and scarcity especially during this dry season. Since they needed much water to survive, this makes it hard for it to survive around dry environment unless you keep sprinkling water on them day and night which I have been doing recently.

During this dry season period, veggies are one lucrative business that people go in to especially those who lives in a well moisture environment besides the river bank. This makes things easier for them since the water required for the veggies to survive is already around them.

Another reason why I sow jute mallow seeds is to save me the cost of buying as it's more costly and one is not even enough for a family. And another reason is to save myself the cost of transport and stress and also eating a first hand foods is really helpful to our health.

And also, being a livestock farmer is not as easy as I thought. At first, I don't see any big deal in raising livestock animals but I discovered recently how tough it is to maintain them especially feeding them is becoming my major challenges as they keep multiplying.

The funniest thing about my local birds and turkey birds is that, they never get tired of eating or get full when they did so. Even if I gave them feeds some moments ago, they will still want more when they see me coming out of the house and they started running after me. At first, I thought to myself that won't this birds eat up all my money.

Though they have their own benefits as well, as I sometimes sell some of them to raise money in case of emergency.

Another issues I get with them recently is that they disturbing and scattering my jute mallow bedding. But to prevent them from causing further damages, I put some bunches of sticks on top the bedding to cove the jute mallow.

And about my turkey, the most painful things that happened to me recently about being a livestock farmer is due to the loss of my poults which my female turkey birds hatched. I do all my possible best to save them but everything was in vain. I imagine if they all survive the amount of money I would have in hand since they are costly when they grow up. But it is what it is and I have learnt a lot of lesson on how I will prevent such situations in the coming future because that's was the first time I experienced such and first time for my turkey birds hatching as well.

About my rabbits, I do love this amazing creature especially due to their cuteness. I bought them some months ago when they are exactly a month old. They have now becomes big, but the rate in which they consumed food has been alarming and the cost of the feed I usually buy for them is very high and things are very tough for me right now due to economic recession and inflation. It is not easy to survive and to even feed ones family.

I am thinking of selling them off since, they becoming tough for me to handle. Though I have not make a conclusion yet because they are of the creature that I really admire.

And one thing I want to go back to now is by investing in broiler birds which I have once did in the past. Though my first experience of raising broiler birds doesn't go well due to some challenges I went through, especially for space since they really need a big space. And I another challenges I faced back them was that I raised just view birds which really makes things tougher because the higher their numbers then the more the profit though it is very stressful to raised them.

I am thinking of starting to raise broiler birds again since I now live a well space place where I can construct my own pen. Though for now, it is just my thought because my plumbing job has not been going well as I could not receive contract like I used to and that's why I have become a full time blogger on the hive blockchain.

Since I have some basic knowledge about raising of broiler birds and I also have some friends around that can put me through. Then I considering venturing into the broiler birds business. The thing that have been holding me back lately is due to the capital and the funds for the construction of pen and other necessary things to do. Though I started powering down some of my hive power some weeks ago to make sure that I raised funds for this project, but I think it will take time before I could accumulate the funds needed for this project. But I believe that I can do it and I will make sure to keep you updated on things goes. Though I would appreciate any support towards this project.

A big thanks to @balte , @schlees for their upvote

I see the challenges of your situation @twicejoy! I love that you're into raising plants and animals! The economy and weather/climate in your location definitely make what you do way more challenging for sure! Hive definitely has the potential to help, but it will of course take time.
