How Cashless Policy And Scarcity Of Cash Had Been Going From Worst To Worse

A lot of struggling among the Nigerians citizen has been going for some months now and the major cause of this struggling is due to new naira notes redesign stuff brought up by the government and central bank of Nigeria towards the end of last year. But since the new naira notes redesign has been launched, the challenges to survive has been easy as many individuals have to queue at the ATM machine for cash withdrawal for hours or more and the worst is that the ATM machine may even not dispense after many hours of queueing wasting your time and energy.

What I have been experiencing recently is the reason why I decided to write this article to share what I have been going through due to scarcity of cash and cashless policy.

To think about it, the cashless policy would have been better if the government had done their first homework which is to upgrade the network regarding transaction and stuff related to the banking system. But they couldn't all they can just do is to impose the cashless policy without proper planning which I term as a lame decision.

Another mistake the government make is printing little new naira notes which is not enough to go in to circulation. The must have knew that this will bring suffering to the citizens especially the poor and average individual, I believe this is a decision made out of wickedness and they don't care about the citizens at all.

The situation of cashless policy and scarcity of cash has nearly or turn one to beggars and unable to even put food on the table. I remember the last time I went out to buy food stuff, I nearly ended up remain stranded because it took me many hours before I could be able to make transaction to the seller. But I am happy that I was able to later made a successful transaction because I have been having different thoughts about what my family will eat or how will survive if the transaction has not been successful. And there is a lot of many individuals also going through this kind of situation.

Many people including me thought things will be different after the presidential election, but things keep worsening. The only positive I noticed about this ongoing issue of cashless policy and scarcity of cash is that the price of some foodstuffs are down in the market which is a good thing but the worst case is that one couldn't afford to buy these foodstuffs despite the fact that they are cheap due to lack of cash and poor networking for transaction. I hope the government find the right solutions to this ongoing situation at the right time.
