‎I Hate Myself for Comparing My Life to Others

(Edited)

‎Hello Hives,
‎
‎There was a time in my life when comparing myself to other people made me unhappy with myself. I would look at how far others had gone and start wondering why my own life was not moving at the same speed. Sometimes, it got so bad that I would end up hating myself. But looking back now, I realize how much unnecessary pressure I was putting on myself.

‎
‎Honestly, I don't think comparing ourselves with others is always a bad thing. Sometimes, it helps us evaluate our progress and understand how far we have come. Seeing someone doing better than us can even motivate us to work harder and improve ourselves.
‎
‎But there is a difference between using comparison to measure your progress and allowing it to destroy your peace of mind. Just because someone seems to be ahead of you doesn't mean you have failed in life.
‎
‎The Day I Realized I Was Making Progress
‎
‎What changed my perspective was the moment I calmed down and started looking at my own life instead of constantly focusing on other people.
‎
‎I began to realize that, despite everything I thought I hadn't achieved, I had actually made progress. My life might not look like someone else's, but I am no longer the person I used to be. I have learned things, gained experience, and developed a different understanding of life.
‎
‎And that realization brought happiness to me.
‎
‎I understood that progress does not always have to be loud or visible to other people. Sometimes, it happens quietly, in ways that only we can recognize. We become wiser, learn from our mistakes, and gradually understand ourselves better.
‎
‎Since then, I have been learning to appreciate my journey rather than constantly wishing I had someone else's life instead.
‎
‎Social Media Has Also Taught Me a Lesson
‎
‎Another reason I no longer allow other people's lifestyles to move me easily is what I have observed on social media.
‎
‎These days, you can see people showing off expensive cars, beautiful houses, luxurious holidays, and other things that make their lives look perfect. When you see such things regularly, it is easy to feel like you are not doing enough.
‎
‎But I have come to understand that not everything we see online reflects realit.
‎
‎Some people borrow cars or even arrange access to houses just to create an impression of wealth and success. Others show only the beautiful side of their lives while hiding the struggles they face behind the scenes.
‎
‎This has taught me not to judge my life by what people choose to show on social media. I would rather focus on building something real for myself than put myself under pressure trying to live up to an image that might not even be genuine.
‎
‎After all, what is the point of impressing people while losing your happiness in the process?
‎
‎I Am Choosing My Own Pace
‎
‎These days, I have found peace in moving at my own pace. I am learning to take things one after another instead of worrying about everything I have not achieved.
‎
‎I still have dreams, ambitions, and things I want to accomplish. I know there is more I can do with my life, but I also understand that putting unnecessary pressure on myself will not make things happen faster.
‎
‎I want to keep working, learning, and improving while trusting that things will gradually fall into place.
‎
‎Someone else's success is not proof of my failure, and their progress does not cancel out mine.
‎
‎I may not have everything figured out yet, but I am grateful for how far I have come. For now, I will keep doing my best, moving at my own pace, and believing that everything will be fine in the end.

If you allow what you see on social media to pressure you, you might as well end up hurting yourself for jo good reason..

Sometimes, we focus more on other people's progress and forget to solve our own problem

You don't hate your self for that.
that's what makes us humans.

Have realised not to compare yourself with anyone. just learn from it and keep moving.

This is very wrong my dear. When we compare ourselves with others we can't move on. We will only be focusing on others instead of ourselves.
Thanks for sharing
