Never Assumed That You Have Known But Asked And Confirm

Hi Hivers,

It is with great pleasure that am welcoming everyone to my blog and I hope you're all doing well and having a great day. I will like to share with you today about the experience that I had with one of my clients and it is one of the greatest lesson I have ever learnt.

Being an artisan, a plumbing technician to be precise. On a fateful day like that, I got a phone call from one of my client and he explained to me all what he wants regarding the plumbing work that he hired me for. We both clearly talked this out and I accepted all what he wants, because I have to satisfy his need and taste.

Then I listed some of the materials needed for the job one after the other and he told me to put the price of each of the materials and do the quotation since I will be the one to go and buy the items.

But instead of me to do the needful, the happiness of getting a new contract is all what my mind can think of since it's being a while since last I have got such contract.

The biggest mistake I made is that, instead of me to confirm each price of the item from the seller, I opted to write the price that I have already knew and submit the total cost of the item to him including the bill for the workmanship.

When I get to the place where I will buy the items needed for the work, I was shocked because the price the items is more higher compared to the one I wrote. I keep blaming myself for such a huge mistake I have made despite the fact that I have a lot of experience in the work. But I later accepted my mistakes though I am the one at loss because I have to used half of the workmanship fees given to me for the job to pay for the items.

I couldn't tell the man because he is kind of strict and very discipline man. Even if I did, I already knew he won't accept it and I don't want him to see me as incompetent for the job. I have no choice than to do job and cut the loss. But I did learn a big lesson especially regarding the market uncertainty, that the price of the market is not a stable one and what you bought at certain price yesterday can be more higher in the next day.

And since then, I have learnt my lesson and always asked or confirm the price of goods from the seller before doing anything to safe myself from falling in to such kind of victim again. When it comes to market stuff, it is better to stop being overconfident that you have known because it is always better to asked and confirm to avoid falling victim like me.

Thanks for visiting my blog and have a wonderful day
