Stay focused when you get bored on your goals.

Nothing good is easy. Every day I hear people say “I want to focus on getting this goal”. We all know it is easier to say than done. Everything takes process and the process could get bumpy at some point. Many people suffer so much on consistency. They start their goals with good intention, but they miss it when it gets to a point. What happened? I think everyone in this world have experienced this in their life. So, no need to feel back about it. We just need to work it out.

I started a project 2 years ago. It is an off-blockchain project. I worked on it for a while, and when it gets to a point, I got tired and faced another project. I worked on that one; it gets so boring and I switched to another. After a while, I went back to the first one, worked again and made no reasonable progress. Why?

The Myth of Passion

Now, let’s face the fact. People get bored at some point working on their goals. It doesn’t mean that they lack consistency, but they need more passion to kick forward. Imagine going to the gym every day just to build your abs. And after 3 months of hard work, you still see a big round belly. This will get so boring, and such a person may lose focus. The only thing that can work in the situation is inner passion.

When I was playing soccer back then in Pepsi Academy, most of the team guys always feels so motivated after we had a big win. We used to travel down to states for competitions and there are always strong inner motivation after a big win. The coach would be happy. My teammate would be more lively, and we will feel like we can beat Arsenal FC.

Also, I love to work more when I am seeing excellent result of my work. I write more codes when I see them working well. I work more when I see more sales in my business. So we work more when we see results. But what about things gone unexpected and everything seems boring? What about when things seem hard to manage? When no one values your work? When you get no good result for your work?

If you truly want to make a difference, build the ability to work when it is difficult to work. Success is not an event; it is a process. Imagine someone that says- “I want to lose 30 pounds in a month” It sounds like a good intention, but it takes a process. It is important to know that it is not only by running down the street every day; it would be achieved with eating healthy and consistent exercise.

In summary, it is important to know that everything is a process, and sometimes things get so boring. So, you need to learn to work during boredom. Get the best out of repetitive work. Get along with the process of the things you do.
